To keep Russia from going further? Huh? What are you smoking? Russia has been stalemated, ground to a halt and attrition has taken its toll. The only place Russia made any advance at all in the last 8 months was to capture a few kilometers worth of a Bakhmut, at a cost of turning it into worthless rubble anyhow. And now, just a few weeks after declaring victory in Bakhmut, Ukraine is already taking swaths of it back from Russia, much to Prigozhin's dismay and many curses. Your weird scenario of Ukraine blowing the dam as a stopgap to stop from being overrun by rapidly advancing unstoppable hordes of Russian war machinery makes absolutely zero sense in any sane universe whatsoever. |
There was a shell company in Poland, according to today's exclusive article in the Washington Post. The plans were part of the leaks of Jack Texeira, and known to the US and Europe in 2022. Go read it. The link was posted upthread. |
Those Ukraine kayak guys are strong paddlers 😆 |
Uh; Ukraine were part of the Soviet Union. Odds are they were not wargaming in the 70s or 80s. Is this your first war? It is not a video game or a movie. Wars take years - unless your america then they take a week or two with decades of insurrection. The dam would be fine if Russia did not invade. I do not care if E.T. Plugged his finger in and blew it up - it’s on the waste of space and oxygen known as Russia and Russians. |
I mixed up Russians and Soviets there. Not sure how that happened. |
The only thing that proves is that they thought about it. As probably did a few other countries, too. |
History shows the retreating side blows the dam. |
That would be Russia. They're spent, have made no significant progress in 8 months, whereas the Ukrainians are replenished and ready to go on the offensive. |
If I had a bullet every time someone says "offensive", I'd rearm Ukraine by now. |
| Blowing the dam gives Russia the cover and opportunity to pull some of the military resources out of Kherson and Crimea to go and shore up their now-compromised borders of Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk. |
Yeah, that is the way it works. If Ukraine blew it up I am cool with it. I really do not care; and Europe is fine for energy. Anything that degrades Russia is on the table. If Ukraine fired up gas chambers for Russians I may have pause, or not. |
Nice try. russia is not a victim. They are just a pathetic corrupt imperialist throwback that we laugh at. They blew up the dam because they wanted to hurt Ukraine and flood some islands where troops were stationed. The dumbasses made too big a hole and effed up again. Pirozghin may be right. These idiots are dumb enough to nuke Belgorod. |

Bulgaria pledging military support for Ukraine...

Remember when the US fought a twenty year war in Afghanistan and in the end nothing changed. So far, this Ukraine war is almost ten years on... why not another ten? |
