| It is their only car, and their LO is 2 yrs. |
| I could think of a few reasons...but who cares, really? Maybe they do lots of roadtrips, have extended family around, or just want to keep their options open if they have more kids. Maybe the said van was all they could afford, while being really safe and having decent reliability, gas mileage, etc. Maybe they want the safest thing they could afford. Or maybe they just like going to Costco. |
| GET A LIFE AND STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DRIVING AND EATING FOR BREAKFAST. |

Maybe the mom is pregnant, and too early to show? That's what I'd assume. Or, that they have family that comes into town.
Eh, doesn't matter much to me either way. |
| Family visits often and/or travel. |
| I wouldn't give it a second thought (expect maybe to be thankful that I'm not the one driving the minivan). |
|
They travel
They often drive others They regularly carry gear (camping, ski, etc) but didn't want a truck They got a great deal on the van They want more kids eventually But honestly I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it unless it was brought to my attention. Those were just our reasons for getting a van with 1 kid. |
| I know several single, childless people that drive minivans as their only car. They are all artists of some sort, and have to transport lots of stuff. Point is, they may have a reason that you don't know about. |
| When I had my first baby we bought a car for the family we ultimately planned to have, because we only buy new cars every 10 years or so. |
| They probably have more than one large dog. |
| Do you secretly judge minivan-driving families (especially ones with only one child)? |
|
Their old car was dying and they like to keep their cars for a long time. So they bought for their future plans.
How crazy is that? |

We had this situation. We hoped for more than one child but have secondary infertility. It sucked.
Maybe you should stop this silliness. |
| This is one of the dumber threads I've seen, and that's saying something. |
| Lots if people without kids drive minivans. They're practical vehicles. Pull your head out of your ass. |
