+1. Totally unnecessary.

What’s wrong with discussing the merger ? Pros and cons for both clubs ?

So, person, what’s the deal? Are they merging all of their sports or just soccer? Rec and travel?

Guess they don't know anything. SYA's rec soccer is huuuuge. I can't see them merging to make it even bigger-would be unmanagable.

Does anyone have a perspective to share as to the status and viability of the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL)? What factors are driving teams out (if that is what's happening)? Thanks in advance. I don't have the context.

ODSL was a viable lower level travel league when there was just NCSL / WAGS above it. Now there are so many other leagues "above" ODSL (e.g. DA, ECNL, CCL, NPL, NCSL, etc.) that there is an "elite" league for every club's team and much less demand for an ODSL type league.

Forget CYA. Looks like SYC has a new travel director.

Yep. Esteban Maldinado left the TD job at LMVSC to become the TD at SYC. Seems like a major shakeup at both clubs. Anyone have the inside scoop?

Why is that? Aren't SYC's teams in EDP?

The club has teams all over the place it’s kind of a crapshoot

Interesting choice. Club has been going through changes for quite some time now.

We found out about the SYC TD change at a game over the weekend, when the former SYC TD (Lee Chang) told us we would be getting a new coach. He didn't provide any additional info but his news, together with the fact that Este's move had been announced the day before, seemed more than coincidental. PP is right in that there has been a lot of change in SYC over the past few years which looks to continue with the arrival of a new TD.
