We were away the whole month of July, at a cottage in the Finger Lakes in upstate NY, and it was heaven. We swam everyday (just opened the door and jumped in the lake), ate tons of fresh produce, and totally relaxed. Got back two weeks ago to scorching heat, jury duty, and then back to work... yuck! I'm so sick of the heat. I don't have a car so DD and I walk everywhere, which normally is fine, but right now it sucks. So sick of this weather, the brown grass, the wilted looking trees... all of it. Anyone else looking forward to autumn, crisp days and nights, and sweaters? |
No. |
Are you kidding? I dread the end of carefree weekends at the pool with so many people we know. Soon, we'll have to return to lonely weekends trying to think of things to do. We're summer fans in this family. |
Me. Hate summers especially in DC. Humidity just makes me droop. Spend most of summer in Manhattan and San Diego but now have to get back to get ready for the start of school. Too bad. August and September is awful so not looking forward to it at all. Tempted to keep kid out of school until K but will start preK at a charter and not sure we'll get in next year. Definitely looking forward to Fall and planning on what bulbs to plant. |
(raises hand, a la Horshack) Me! Me!
I melt down during the summeer and Can. Not. Wait for that first cool crisp day of Autumn..... In 3-2-1... |
OP, I hear you. NE summers rock! DC is oppressive, in more ways than one. I say this because I worry about depression setting in. 4 months of melting heat, a practically nonexistant fall and spring, and L-O-N-G winters where they claim they rarely get snow instead of getting off their as*es and actually plowing and reconnecting people's much needed electricity. What a concept. UGH.

Hell no. Summer is the best. Fall means winter and that is depressing. |
Yes! Summer here is depressing. Can't wait for crisp air! |
We moved to MA a year ago from DC and the summers are perfect. 80 during the day and 65 at night! Beach everyday, sweatshirt at night. Love it! |
I'm over the oppressive heat but read this morning that August is expected to be better than July so I think we are over the worst of it. Were you out today? It was quite pleasant. I took a 20 minute walk midday and it was really nice. We'll have some ugly days in August but it will be mixed with days like this. Plus I'm loving how the metro is already less crowded etc. because it's a big vacation month and work is quieter than normal. I'll be ready for fall but don't want to rush it. |
20:29 - I hate you. Where are you? |
you'll hate me more. i lived in san diego where 80 is a heat wave! 72 everyday all year round. heading back in a few weeks! summers here suck. |
I so hate this weather. Hoping we get a job assignment in the Pacific NW even. (Of course, then I will probably complain about my lack of sun...)
I do love the fall, no matter where I am. Summer used to be my favorite season when I was younger but fall is the best now. |
Pool makes summer the best! |
Yes. I want to wear jeans. I want my kids in school. |
