Yeah I think the point is that a hachet/fouling style of play is associated with Saudi Arabia more so than "samba" lol

You all keep talking about the Samba Boys' coach - when my DS played them, they had four coaches on the sideline for a league game. Plus two more in SYC gear. It was one of the most absurd things I've ever seen.

Why do you think they raise money for all these tournaments? It's to fly out all the coaches for the team!

Those coaches were there for the tournament with their own teams. They go to watch not coach.

Besides, there are couple coaches' kids on the team, including main coach.

To teach these young boys to play that style is asking for them to get the a$$ kicked in real life within the next few years. Ive seen the boys and most of the parents. They are mostly smaller hispanic families. which leads me to believe just as they foul dirty on the field they will get hurt when they fight a bigger actual athlete.

He was an assistant coach for the older teams for many years. 2004 & 2003. Top teams in the state. Very energetic and very committed.

The families he coach are Hispanic and maybe not too tall...but how tall was Maradona, how about Messi?

The families are also low income and therefore he raises funds to help. What's wrong with dreaming big for those families?

Why so much hate? Have you see those boys playing, they are amazing. My sons who play in top teams didn't do that at their age.

Again, why all the hate?

Right. Is that before or after somebody carries little Jozy across the puddles in Trinidad after practice? Toughness is about a lot more than size, or waistline, as Jozy himself demonstrates.

Messi was diagnosed with growth hormone disorder; he received human growth hormones for treatment. Let's stop comparing every short player in the United States with two Argentinians. You can use Puch, Shaqiri, Alexis Sanchez, Kante, etc

The point is By age 12-13 If one of those small samba boyz does a hatchet job on the wrong brother. All hell will break loose and the little samba boy will end up with a broken jaw. Lesson is know how you take a cheap shot on.

Uh sure, that works both ways and is not really a racial or ethnic question. Toughest dogs don’t bark before they bite.

You can make it all about that, but when my kid has given it back to physical players, their parents and those players howl and flip and flop more than anybody out there. And yes, we play with kids from Bolivian league. I do generally agree that younger whiter suburban parents who never played simply do not understand that this is not modern basketball (where any physical contact is a foul) or Futsal (where there is less tolerance in the US for physical play that is permissible elsewhere and fine in soccer). They either get used to it or their kids go play something else.

I am not sure why there is so much vitriol on this thread. Could someone post a video of this team playing? This way it will be easier to tell how they play.

I hate when Central Americans think they are the best in the world at soccer. Europe is the king followed by South America (which central americans are not from). Who do you really think is better USA or el Salvador when it comes to soccer. Ill take Guatemala over El Salvador but honestly how far has either ever gone in World Cup competition? For transparency I am from Spain and my wife is from Brazil. Neither of us are athletes and our DD plays for Arlington.

Street soccer. What has died in Europe and is dying in South America outside of extremely poor areas where the best players are gone by 8 years old. Street soccer. What you think leads to amazing football and yet South America and Africa has been dropping off further and further in every World Cup.

Maybe, the game has evolved and, like usual, coaches in America are 20 years behind.

Street soccer. Where did it get your 2007B team? The team coached by your Technical Director, assisted by Assistant Technical Director? Let’s see… 11th out of 13 possible places in MLS Next. Two wins, seven losses, three ties. Eight goals scored, shut out EIGHT times in twelve games.

Mi son played under this Technocal Director and all they did at training was play. Then come games, same starting lineup, same formation, relied on who was the fasted runner and who could kick the hardest.
