Definitely some shady dealings going on with the 25 Capital teams. In the end, they still cant beat the MD teams.

+1. Capital held private tryouts for certain Pride girls and promised them spots ahead of the official tryouts. For a club that keeps saying how much better they are than Pride, they sure went through a lot of trouble to get these girls on their team.

Up to 6 Pride girls had private workouts with a Capital coach prior to tryouts. While there was probably not an official offer it was certainly understood. I heard Light Blue girls were also given a wink prior to the tryouts.

Curious to see what's truth and not truth. As for Stars light blue girls, very few made the 25 Capital Blue team.

It’s a shame that some girls paid one of the highest tryout fees for a process that was already predetermined in what was clearly a money grab for the Capital directors. Wonder is there is some legal jeopardy for them for false advertising. This is America, you can sue for anything and force them to court to get the truth under oath about the scam.

Private tryouts are often held as a courtesy to a player who may be (a) unable to make the public tryout, (b) afraid of retaliation from the team they are considering leaving or (c) any other private reason. It does not necessarily mean that anything shady is going on.

Is any of this really new? Seems like CLC has been doing this for years where they know who they want on their teams and communicate this with players prior to tryouts. And players have seemed to know prior to tryouts where they stood. After all the wink winks and nod nods there are usually several spots open to fill the team. So, anyone going into these tryouts thinking the process is fair and believing there are 21 spots up for grabs simply hasn't been paying attention or not running with the right crowd. The bigger story is why would six 2025 Pride players on what seems to be a well-established Pride team want to move to CLC when the Pride 23/24 teams are at least equal to, if not better, than the CLC 23/24 teams.
