What on Earth are you talking about? District residents have been agitating for statehood since 1801, immediately after the passage of the law that disenfranchised them. You just haven't been paying attention. And how does retrocession solve the issue? Maryland doesn't want us, and we don't want them. Therefore, statehood is the only viable path forward, and the fact that you won't consider it a solution is the tell that it's politically motivated by two seats in the Senate. |
