Kid sentenced to 24 years in prison for killing a mother and child while drag racing

If it's an adult vehicle, it should be an adult punishment.

If someone isn't legally responsible for their actions then they shouldn't be allowed to get behind the wheel of a car.

I think the sentence in Florida is very appropriate.

He was 18 at the time of the accident.

Not a kid. It's unfortunate that his patents thought him mature enough to drive responsibly and gave him a new car that had a lot of power.

He isn’t 21.

18 years old is not a kid. They vote. They go to war. They are parents.

It doesn’t matter. You said he was 21 you were wrong. He is 18. You should just admit you are wrong or stand corrected.

Plus 18 yo did not go to war until Vietnam, it Normalized it snd it was wrong. The average age of soldiers were 25 in previous wars and most that saw combat were 25 and older.

They shouldn’t be parents.

DP. You are the one who is incorrect. He was 18 at the time of the accident, in 2018. He is 21 now in 2021 at the time of the judge's ruling in his case.

But despite being 18 years old, the judge explained very reasonably why he considered and rejected sentencing Herrin as juvenile. You should listen to his explanation. It definitely makes sense.

This is not true. There were definitely 18 year olds (and younger!) before Vietnam. "Average age" is not the same as "youngest."
