That Arlington ECNL team you are taking about whoops all current Ecnl teams with similar scores or even more. This SYC team was missing players for that state cup game due to possible Covid exposure. Also, this particular SYC team beat 4 Ecnl (in MD and VA) teams this fall season in scrimmages. Not taking away credit from this arlington team since they dominate Ecnl and did well in State cup. |

What does SYC beating ENCL teams have to do with getting whipped by Arlington? And why does everyone keep talking about ENCL teams? In the age group i've watched, they are not competitive at all on the MD side. No idea why they are even apart of the conversation. |

Agreed. All this is pretty silly. Yes, oh Arlington U15 team, you are wonderful, so if you are looking to play only peers, clearly you cannot play any matches. Enough already. SYC top to bottom is sufficiently competitive with everybody who plays in these leagues to play in either league, which is all the PP said. Can we all just take a breath and see how things look by the end of next year (2021-22) before making these absurd pronouncements about who belongs where and why? Let's see how these clubs and teams shuffle and reshuffle when there is an environment where we are more likely to see player mobility in light of which leagues they have decided to join and where kids feel like they are likely to develop best. |

Again, I think the original point was that SYC boys are sufficiently competitive to play in MLS or ECNL, so if they beat other ECNL teams, but not Arlington, I think the original point remains valid with additional support from results vs other ECNL teams. That's all. We are at a rival club but see no reason why the original point is not correct or in acknowledging that SYC boys can play in either league. |

My kid was on that team. The coach in question is a decent guy off the pitch, but on the pitch is quite insane and the environment he creates for all participants is very intense. Sure, there are some kids that respond well to that environment. Mine did not (hated going to training, didn’t play again for more than a year after that experience) and we left. |
