And Trump is a fake Christian.

And Evangelicals all appear to be fake Christians too.

Evangelicals are simply an insult to the Christian faith!!

Evangelicals are not an insult to be h Christian faith. But they do have a clear choice now. Do they actually believe in the values they espouse.?

A church was attacked and innocents were injured. There was a freaking calvary charge. It was before curfew. It was done for a photo op. There was no prayer. There was no reflection. The sacred was defiled.

I mean, we've known that all along. God gives his blessings to those who deserve them. Etc. etc.

It's their choice at this moment. There is no closing their eyes or covering their ears. It happened. It was witnesed. It is clear ciut and uncomplicated. We will all be judged by our maker for what we do this day forward.

Unfortunately they're watching Fox News, which is downplaying the tear gas. I guess it's an improvement that Fox is now actually mentioning the tear gas.

Evangelicals don't care. The main reason evangelicals broke away from mainline denominations is because the mainline churches stopped supporting bigotry. The rise of evangelical churches has been a direct backlash against mainline churches supporting civil rights, women's rights, and gay rights.

100%. Evangelicals, in general, are the historical successors to the Southern supporters of slavery. No all Evangelicals, of course, but many. Mainstream Christians, among others, led the way on civil rights, etc.

Then we need to ensure that they see. This is the moment we all have to make choices. The past doesn't matter. I will not assume or cast them out. Today is the day we must all ask ourselvws what we believe in. What did we as individuals stand for.

I'm Episcopalian, but some evangelicals are strongly opposed to Trump.

Like Jim Wallis of Sojourners, who had this to say this morning:

[twitter]https://t.co/TpXaBY4pdW?amp=1[/twitter]

After using military forces to violently remove peaceful protesters of racial injustice, Trump strode with his federal police to stand in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church, lift a Bible high in the air and get his picture taken — first alone and then with Cabinet members and White House staff. That afternoon Trump alluded to the Insurrection Act of 1806 when he threatened using U.S. military forces on American domestic soil, calling himself the “law and order president.”

Standing in front of the church, and surrounded by federal forces, Trump said America is the greatest country in the world. The president’s cynical and dangerous appeals to Christian nationalism is an affront to the mission of the church and the integrity of the gospel. His inflammatory words and reckless actions only pour gasoline on his flames of anger and racial injustice. It has been reported that Donald Trump had the Bible upside down when he lifted it up. That says it all.

Mayor Bowser: A full 25 minutes before the curfew & w/o provocation, federal police used munitions on peaceful protestors in front of the White House, an act that will make the job of @DCPoliceDept officers more difficult. Shameful!

The Military Police shot rubber bullets and tear gas into the crowd and marched into and clubbed people to force them back. All the criminals in this action were in uniform.

Totally debunked.

LOL. It’s cool, everyone! The cops have explained that they didn’t do it. It’s “debunked,” no further questions needed.

I SAID, NO FURTHER QUESTIONS!

Don't care what evangelicals think. They are authoritarians.

I'd like to hear from some prominent Evangelicals to see how -- or if -- they try to spin this.

Sen. Sasse already won his primary so he can peek out with some mild criticism of this.

Jim Wallis, a prominent evangelical, castigated Trump. It's posted about 3-4 posts above this one. He is, however, left-leaning.
