Personally, I think we should pull out of CCL and just play all of our teams in NCSL while we do this academy thing. If we're going to have such a big change in the program, it should be across the board.

Did anybody else see the table position of our CCL teams that was posted? Is anybody else noticing how many players left and that most were red players? Our CCL teams, for the most part, left. Our CCL2 and NCSL teams stayed, so let's just be CCL2 and/or NCSL. There's nothing wrong with that.

For the morale of the players, absolutely yes. Doesn't help they're being told this academy is going to make them better and then go out into CCL and not be competitive. Circle the wagons in NCSL, there's plenty of competition. I'd imagine that NCSL is cheaper, as well. Which might expedite that refund.

I said that days ago here. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. I don't see our Technical Directors being very approachable or looking to do what's best for the kids, 20 plus years of experience and all they could come up with is an Academy Style of play... long gone the good days at LMVSC.

I've heard three of our coaches' kids left the Club to play at SYC last year. Even those coaches knew what was best for their own kids...

Either that or neither club knows what they are doing. I wouldn’t read too much into that. Coaches/friends might be more willing to put each other’s kids on first team and give more playing time, etc.

I don't care about it and I am sick of the LMVSC/SYC thing. I don't care. It's over. I just want my club to do what they said they would do.

And +1 to the NCSL idea. There's no point in staying in CCL. We can still do tournaments and showcases, State Cup. But we really don't need to be in CCL. With COVID, the academy changing, DA ending (meaning CCL will probably become even stronger...), let's just realign in NCSL and figure it out from there. And yes, it costs less than CCL.

This is a pretty sound idea. The red teams will end up getting Div 1 anyways, and the white teams will be somewhere where they currently are. Are there any honest objections to this? This would also definitely save us money, as no teams would be in CCL. Every team in NCSL, still play the same tournaments and showcases. Why aren't we doing this?

The red teams probably won’t get Division I, at least not immediately. But they’ll have solid competition, week after week, in Div II or III and not have to travel to Virginia Beach.

Why not? For the same reason CCL was created: too hard to juggle coaches’ schedules if they have two or three teams.

NCSL *is* what local soccer should look like. Pro-rel, fight for your spot, don’t drive to the Carolinas or PA.

I can tell you that over this past winter our DDs NCSL team was approached by the LMVSC CCL team in her age group and asked if we wanted their CCL spot for the Spring because the team could not compete. Our team did not make the switch. At least someone at LMVSC saw what was happening and tried to make a change.

Lmvsc is NOT about to lose CCL. Stop whining and go to another club if you're not happy.

It took YEARS to get into CCL and they are not about to just throw it away with given time Lmvsc can be where it use to be but it takes time. The younger kids they have now will be good and will form new red teams
For now whoever is red just needs to take the punches and keep going forward

With all due respect, you can leave. "Red needs to take the punches". By the time this academy has the chance to succeed, it will take years as well. The 2004 boys, coached by a DIRECTOR, didn't participate in CCL. The 2007 girls, coached by a DIRECTOR didn't participate in CCL. Why should the rest of the teams be forced to take the punches? The only reason why we're staying in CCL is so we can pay the staff inflated rates while at the same time attempt to recruit. And guess what? That spits in the face of their message on "community"!

Wait wait WHAT!? What age group was this? Don't need to know your club, but I'm really curious about the age group.

This statement has so many pros and cons to even point out

No VA Beach (who we don't play well, anyways). Still competing and earning our place in the league? This sounds perfect for us. Oh wait, why won't we do it you said? "Hard to juggle the coaches' schedules"? Interesting. It's almost like they're doing the academy to accommodate the coaches and in CCL to accommodate the coaches. No idea how the white team coaches with multiple teams are able to figure it out.

Oh wait, I forgot. We're here to pay the bills for LMVSC. That's right. Funny how the "your kid isn't a world star" isn't commenting on the idea of playing in NCSL. You'd think they'd be promoting this idea as well. Or, it's a parent and not staff. Could be that.

I must ask... what age group does DD or DS play in? Don't even specify DD or DS, just birth year. I think that says it all. And on behalf of the rest of the club, why don't YOU leave? Maybe you haven't noticed, but paying the CCL fee has been hurting us. We could even get more players by playing in a cheaper league that we're actually competitive in.
