+1 We don’t blame the farmers in Kansas for the Spanish flu. |
|
While the U.S. is failing their own citizens in every single way possible, Russia and now China(that is trying to improve their image) are sending trucks and planes with supplies and doctors to many countries. One newspaper in Italy criticized Russia for their attempt to win over their gratitude, while Italian government has been grateful. They are doing their best to promoted their countries as benevolent helpers, improve their image. Russia wants the sanctions gone, China to improve their tarnished image.
Real superpower where people can't buy a simple medical mask! And grocery store greeters!! are needed, garden centers are popping up all over the place, and we have to have our Dunkin and Starbucks coffee lest we suffer drinking home made GASP! coffee, and who cares if a few badly paid workers die? No doubt crab truck will be arrive this weekend to grocery store near you! Thanks for that article to above pp! |
lol, china/wet markets aren't to blame? Some folks will go at any length to defend china on this one. Don't get it. |
Except for yes this is china's fault. Their dirty food and animal practices are causing now multiple pandemics and they do nothing about it, yet we are supposed to thank them for planes of supplies?? |
|
It was EITHER the Chinese wet market OR that nearby WUHAN laboratory where CDC nor journalists are allowed. Take your pick. |
Hmm. I don't know what kool-aid you're drinking but all my Spanish friends are furious at China. |
Maybe dimwits think alike? |
So then the Spanish flu was our fault. And that killed on a much larger scale. |
I never said that people are not mad. Just that China is doing a lot to fix their image. Including widely spreading conspiracy theories that the U.S. scientist sold the virus. While this theory is denounced here in the news, my friends in Eastern Europe are believing this crap. Heck, my mom back there is believing it and she told me about it! I had to tell her to stop reading and believing stupid crap online! |
Perhaps I am dim? Yet, this is exactly what Russia and China are doing. Promoting their countries as leaders in the pandemic, you do know even Cuomo said he is grateful for ventilators China sent them? This is how they are using the times to propagate themselves. |
| China still does not admit Tiananmen Square happened. |
I posted the wrong link, here is the correct one https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/01/27/coronavirus-covid19-dont-blame-bat-soup-for-the-virus/ |
The term "wet market" simply means that fresh food is sold - as opposed to dry goods market. It doesn't mean that there are live animals there. In fact, most don't have live animals. I completely agree that markets selling live animals in those types of close urban quarters should be banned. I lived in China for many many years (and trust me to say that I'm no China defender) but I never went to any urban wet market with live animals and I shopped at them regularly. I shopped at wet markets more than the grocery stores because the produce was more fresh. Obviously there ARE wet markets that sell live animals and those are the ones that need to be shut down. I knew they existed but I never went because, well, it's totally gross. It's not the majority of them, however. |
| CHY-NA sucks. |
