Stop taking kids on the roster that do not belong. You are the so called soccer expert, not the dumb schmuck parents. just stop. |
Kids starting over your kid are never unhappy about it. Parents with starting kids are never unhappy. You should never sign on where your kid will not play regardless of level. Not being able to play is never any fun but nothing more than ego and pride put your kid in or kept your kid in a bad spot. It doesn’t mean your “kid sucks” but it doesn’t mean your kid will have a role on the current team either. Find a place where your kid will have a role. It is a game and the game should be played because it is fun. |
Stop accepting offers to be a bench player. |
Same dumb answer every time. It must be great to have no respect for this bloated roster nonsense form the entire team and the entire club. No respect. No one agrees with your obnoxious position. |
No one blames the bench players. They blame the club for rostering them. |
A gun was not held to your head. If my kid isn’t going to be a starter I’m not signing onto the team, period. My kid will and has played at the level that they can co tribute. Being a sub is a necessary evil but I’m not going to be the one who spends their money on that BS. If my kid needs to drop a level in order to play then those are the breaks. I’m glad folks are willing to be a sub but I won’t put my kid in that position. |
It’s not 100% of the clubs. My U15 DD plays on a team with 15 full time players. Not every player starts every game, but everyone plays. |
The player is the reason they are a bench player, not the club. What does the club care who play's? You all paid the same money. You’re kid is a sub because they are not better than the other kids. Perhaps the clubs opinion is wrong but it isn’t likely to change either. Find the right fit and you won’t have this problem. |
Stop overloading the rosters. The top of the roster hates it as does the bottom. Dont do it. |
Don’t give in to your ego and accept the offer. Ask how many are on the team and if your kid is a starter or not. This is a two way street. Their overloaded roster doesn’t need to be your problem. Choose another team or club. |
This is not a two way street. You position is not defensible. I am out. |
The only thing the top of the roster hates is the game that kid 20 gets subbed in and gives up a late goal to lose the lead. |
A offer is made. It is then YOUR decision to accept or decline. If you sign on knowingly as a sub the blame is yours. There is no obligation to play your kid. This is not rec soccer. Be an adult. |
| The top hates overloaded rosters with miserable kids on it. The players are entirely aware, frustrated, and unimpressed that their so called coaches take on these inferior players knowingly for the money and the team be damned. They most certainly do not blame the bench players unless they are misguided, arrogant and immature and yes - there are a few of those but not many. |
I agree. It waters down the training sessions and they are caught between not passing to the players in a game who can't really compete and passing to them and them losing the ball. My advice is look at current rosters and if they are bloated, chances are they will stay that way. Just don't do it. But if I wasn't sure and then the roster came out and had 20 kids, I would ask to withdraw my player as soon as I knew. |
