He got the children if she was gone. Assuming the MIL passed soon their inheritances would be sizable and not locked away in trusts because the mom and grandmom would have wanted them taken care of for the next decade. As the guardian he could have used the money for lifestyle purposes.

As for the wife, I think it’s simple rage. Even without the money, Shanann Watt’s husband killed her JUST to get a fresh start.

Well it sounds as if they have been caught red handed dumping bloody items from the house. It's just a matter of time before the girlfriend caves and tells them what happened.

As a mother, herself, you would think that she would have some compassion for those poor children who have just lost their mom and you would also think that she would do whatever necessary to get back to her own daughter.

I guess her "love" for this creep or drugs or money or whatever it was that made her get involved in all of this was stronger than her love for her own child. Awful.

It happens all the time if a guardianship wasn’t established before the parents died. Maybe a friend of the family in CT will take all 5 though. Or really distant relation.

She didn't always look so bad. I imagine the stress of helping to clean up a murder scene and then spending the night in jail would do a number on your looks.

You may be right, but it's also somewhat telling that she doesn't have custody of her daughter (or does't want custody).
