Conners
McEnroe Agassi all did far worse. This was racism and sexism, more the former but exacerbated by the latter. I’m glad Serena called him out. |
I didn't see this but I instantly wondered.... Is there any chance that the chair ump was paying her back and making things difficult for her because of that body suit bruhaha? "You make things tough for us, we'll make things tough on you." |
You are wrong. He has had several run ins with other players. Both Rafa and Djokovic have complained about him recently. You are doing the expected mansplaing. You are assuming the pp is female and because she has a strong opinion she is hysterical. Take you sexism and shove it. |
Yep. |
Women are still punished for speaking up like adults. If we do we are overly emotional. Serena was trying to be reasonable but knew what the guy did was never done. He did it to her during a final of a major and she was in shock. It just doesn't happen. Women are punished for speaking up where it is accepted from men. |
No. Just no. That was the French tennis association and how does her wearing a body suit make things tough for them? This has to be the most insane comment on this thread. And btw, there was no bruhaha. Serena accepted their judgement and made it clear she was ok with the decision. |
Chair umpire has absolutely nothing to do with dress rules for an event. Nothing at all. What a stupid statement. |
| Horrible sportsmanship from Serena. What a nasty example for young athletes. |
Well excuse me! I was not aware that the chair ump lived in such a tight bubble that they would never form a personal opinion about something like that body suit incident. I'll bet those chair umps never, ever talk to any other authorities in the sport.....never mind! |
And that double standard is sexist and intolerable. |
X 100. |
US Open is the US tournament. If they thought Ramos was a bad ref they wouldn’t have allowed him to ref the final. Ain’t nobody who won’t get blamed if Serena loses because she’s never to blame. |
So much stupidity on this thread and so many idiotic comments from people that didn't watch the match and know nothing about tennis. Bottom line, Osaka was the better player last night and deserved the win. What she didn't deserve was the juvenile tantrum from her opponent spoiling her moment. |
Wow. I thought Twitter was your single mode of communication. How's Melanie? |
Maybe the umps are not inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt anymore. |
