The whole problem is that this is ALL the Trump people can defend her with. They throw well-educated in there just to seem like they are basing it on something of substance. But "happy, well-educated, gorgeous, rich, a great mom, well-put together" should not be the only qualifications for a top government job.

I am the OP. I don't disagree with these statements, actually. What I am discussing is about something else entirely.

I am getting frustrated that most people trying to tear down this post and its sentiments are truly terrible at reading comprehension and analysis!

Thank you for responding to my post, OP. Not sure why you picked mine when there are so many others affirming your confirmation bias. Here is the thing. I have teenagers and I’m not going to willingly drag myslef into their world of over-analyzing stupidity when there are so many greater concerns in the world. She gives off good energy to me in the limited time I have thought about it and I legitimately don’t get the “darkness” from her.

Having said that, the entire blood diamond issue which has been around for centuries pisses me off.

I started the thread because I wanted to dialogue about a particular phenomenon that I am experiencing. But by all means, you are welcome to pop in and out and in again to try to derail the original topic and spew shallow analyses and poorly written criticisms.

Someone on this forum posted a great explanation on another Ivanka thread a few weeks ago (sorry, I can’t find it). It was basically that she’s the Republican’s version of a feminist: pretty, thin, quiet, dresses in skirts and dresses, speaks demurely, never takes the lead, etc. She can be a businesswoman as long as she behaves a certain way, always knowing not to upstage the men. I think there’s something to this argument.

That rings true. It is also consistent with a lot of the pro-Ivanka comments in this thread - those traits are what they point to as her defense.
