I think most people, including the OP, have gone out of their way to say she is attractive and/or has above average intelligence. For those who have called her names, others -- self-identified LIBERALS -- have stepped in to say that's necessary, and also likely untrue.

I don't think "poise" is the right word here: it means elegant, balanced, controlled. She IS very much controlled and arguably elegant: it's her words and actions (or lack thereof) and some of her public speaking traits that have people feeling disconcerted.

What's rather odd to me is that when Donald shoots his mouth off whether it's about dating ivanka when she's sitting next to him in an interview or referring to the future breasts his baby girl (Tiffany) will have sitting next to his current wife and the baby's mother, they don't blink an eye. How this can become normal is beyond me.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past Donald Trump to enforce some type of condition for his children that says if they offend him or speak out publicly against him he will cut them out of the will. He is so self-interested and narcissistic I could see him just blatantly stating this, and would not be surprised if his kids were so accustomed to being rich and spineless that they do it unquestioningly.

Oh good grief, you really don't get it. No one is criticizing her because she's a woman. There's no sexist tone to most of these comments. The criticism is substantive. Liberals don't believe women are above valid, substantive criticism.

OP, I agree with you. Like many posters, my opinion of her has declined over time. That conversation with her father about the beggar on the street was a HUGE turn off. I resent the fact that she has a White House position solely through nepotism. Her business practices with the Trump Organization-- especially in Turkey and Azerbaijan-- are shady as hell. Her breathy, affected speech is grating because it sounds so fake, like like she's watched too many old movies or something. Ivanka, you'll never have the elegance of Katherine Hepburn, no matter how long you stand in front of the mirror and practice wistfully saying, "My, she was yar!"
