Booker’s statement was weak, at best. I agree there were no specifics. His statement equated to “I don’t agree with you politically, so I don’t think you should be our AG.” John Lewis’ statement was equally as weak. His statement was more a speech about the history of this country on civil rights and really nothing about Sessions himself. The speakers who spoke in favor of Sessions were much more compelling and provided numerous examples of his record on civil rights. Booker did not do himself any favors. |

It's a thing of beauty - truly. Great job, Sen. Cruz:

Thanks for the link. |
| Sessions did a great job. Easy confirmation. Kind of surprised at how weak the opposition was. Booker didn't do himself any favors, especially with all the contradictory sound bites already out there. |
The opposition had nothing. Sessions is pretty clean. What you see is what you get. |
+1. Booker is a joke. |
Except his racism. But that does not concern you white people, apparently. |
|
What you see is someone with a mixed record on race relations who at best will turn things back to the 1980's and at worst to the 1920's.
If you are not of color, you really are not in a position to evaluate. |
No, this was the "you go to the back of the bus" statement the GOP decided to do. |
It concerns a lot of white people. Just not the mouthiest ones. |
Those people of color who chose to testify did evaluate. And, many of them found him to be an excellent choice. And, these are the people who have known him for 30+ years. Not Congressmen/Senators who have an agenda. |
I love how you love the people of color when they agree with you. Much like y'all agree with the NYT when it suits you. Please. |
What a great day. Our country will be so much better when sessions and others finally fix the h1b fraud. Just today I had to interview another opt to h1b visa fraud. Another person desperate to leave India that bloated his resume. Forced to interview because our company forces us to use the New Jersey h1b contractors to place people. People way low in rates. Forced by mbas looking for short term cost savings . Maybe someday I can hire local college grads again. No thanks to you Ivy League elites that piss on your fellow citizens |
Ivy league elites? lol. Conversely, the anti-intellectual rubes in flyover country who voted for these ass clowns can suck it when they lose their healthcare, get thrown in jail rather than receive treatment for oxy addiction, and get measles when they decide not to vaccinate based on false information. This whole thing is truly a slow motion train wreck. The people who should be paying attention don't either read the news or don't think it's real because they're fed an insane narrative. |
I am an immigrant. And "colored" based on your typical BS. Sessions sounds OK to me. I didn't vote for him or his platform, but respect something called Democracy and Rule of Law. I hope you do too. |
