Did you believe Amanda Knox was guilty?

It would be a surprise if her dna wasn't there. The meredith dna on that knife was too small and is considered unreliable because it was "detected" by amplifying it thousands of times so it was probably a lab contaminant. If you see the pictures of the bloody room, if Amanda were really in that room during the crime, she would have left a foot/hand print on something if she was involved. It's impossible to clean up only her prints and leave Rudy's.

No shit Sherlock.
The knife was in Sollecito's apartment.

What's your point?

What is your point saying that Amanda's Dna would be in the apartment?
Nobody said it shouldn't be, it's a non issue.

You're talking to two different people. The one that you were rude to and the one asking what your point is about the knife found in Sollecito's apartment.

It was like a fun game to him. And yeah, Amanda acted in a strange way, but that doesn't make her a murderer. Add to that the total botching of the processing of DNA evidence and I am convinced they were on a witch hunt. All I can think now is about meredith's poor family who have no idea what really happened.

I think people have a pretty good idea what happened, perhaps Meredith's parents don't believe it but it's pretty clear. Guede broke into the house, he sexually assaulted and murdered Meredith. He left his DNA everywhere. Knox and her boyfriend go into the house the next day, find blood and other things amiss, call police. They think she is acting strange so start to suspect her. Media is loving the story, its huge sensation, police and prosecutors don't want to be wrong so they stick with going after Knox despite lack of evidence. Knox cracks under duress and gives false confession. Guede realizes he can get lighter sentence if he says Knox and boyfriend were involved. That works and he only gets sentenced to 16 years despite overwhelming forensic evidence against him.

Why was Amanda acting so strangely though? I've never understood that.

What specific actions are you talking about? Some of the things alleged about her were not true.

I found out a horrifying detail yesterday. Merideth's throat was cut right before she was sexually assaulted. I can't believe Italy is going to let that man go free in a few years.

Knox has Asperger's syndrome or something similar. She's an odd duck. That doesn't make her guilty.

He is already eligible for work release, and in the spring was released for 36 hours for good behavior. His original 30 year sentence was reduced to 16 years and he will be eligible for full parole in 2018.

That is terrible.

For some people tragedy just doesn't hit them right away. When my dad died the first week was a blur for me, it's like I couldn't comprehend he was gone. When it hit me though it REALLY hit me. A lot of people also can't show grief in public. I probably came off as cold and uncaring, but in reality I just couldn't release my emotions so openly.

Yup. There's no right and wrong way to process grief, but the 7 stages typically include

1. shock/denial
2. pain and guilt
3. anger
4. bargaining
etc

It says a lot about Italian judgment when they would rather convict someone on the basis of their sexual history and method of grieving rather than convicting someone on the physical evidence which pointed to Rudy Guede.

Agree with previous 2 pps. When my mother died I was in shock for a long time. I remember telling a friend a month after the death that it was like there was a wall between me and what happened. I knew it was there, I knew the emotions were there, but I couldn't access them at the time.

So much of Amanda Knox's behavior was held up as evidence of guilt, but to me it only looks that way if you have already formed the hypothesis that she IS guilty.

Should say I agree with 12:22 and 12:38.

I also heard she had been smoking pot the night before she discovered Meredith's body.

They created a storyline the way they make a reality tv show.

Yes, but I don't think any of her "odd" behaviors after the body was discovered were ever attributed to being high.
