VYS Soccer - better or worse?

I've had 2 kids in VYS travel for years now and don't have any complaints. I just saw this thread and am fascinated that it has so many comments. VYS travel has had a lot of turnover, but in general, we have been happy with the coaching.

I find it interesting that with all this talk about VYS, no one has mentioned if the kids are better off. Are practices better? Are they developing more? Are they happy?

i have always been one of Eddie, Jane, and Gerardo’s strongest supporters. i thought they did a great job for our kids and I did everything they asked me to do. elections, meetings, texts, etc. but, after certain information was brought to my attention last spring, i immediately agreed that it could not be ignored and understood why the club had to make the decision that it did. i am confident that every member of the VYS community would have reached the same conclusion if they had the same information.

despite the necessity of this action, i continued to believe that Eddie and his team had made a positive impact on VYS and were good people who simply made a mistake. UNTIL I READ THIS FILTH. it is beyond obvious that, either directly or indirectly, they are behind this bitter, ugly, vile, cowardly, and disgraceful series of personal attacks on members of our community. i don’t always agree with the people they are attacking, but they are mothers, fathers, friends, coaches, and volunteers, with kids of their own, who are part of our community. i am proud to know and have served VYS with them.

i never saw the dark side of the Eddie era that so many complained about previously. this has opened my eyes. i am disgusted by what I have read here.

I think you're kidding yourself if you believe they have time to throw shade on a DCUM thread. Eddie and his team have moved on. The rest of VYS should as well.

And unless you have facts to back up your "dark era" theories, you best stop posting potentially slanderous things on an anonymous thread.

I think that's all fair to say. Probably for the best if we all quit trying to guess each other's identities. I know first-hand that some of those guesses are way off!

There's no point in rehashing the 2014 BOD election or Eddie's departure in 2015, as much as some people here really want to grind those axes. Plenty of issues to discuss in the present.
