From my law school mentor: trials are not about truth, but about evidence. That mantra always makes me better prepared to ensure i'm able to get in admissible evidence so that can tell the story.
From my therapist: you have no obligation to maintain a relationship with your mother who was toxic and abusive to you. That was sooo freeing and the space I gave myself to heal without her around actually enabled me to later have a relationship with her (albeit, superficial but that's the best way for us.) |
