So many minorities in the government

That's nice. But if she didn't have the skills, then you either can nonselect and readvertise, or justify not selecting her. You (your managers & HR) just have to strap their balls on and do the job.

There is no requirement that diversity, etc., requires you to hire unqualified employees. That's a failure of management in implementation.

Why is this just about "Blacks"? You know that AA's are NOT the only group that benefits from Affirnative Action programs? Why not mention them?

All this back and forth for nothing. It does not appear that OP is qualified for most Fed Public Health positions. I am in the Public Health field and most of the PHA's I know have at least a Masters. I did not know that the Fed hired PHA's with just a bachelor's degree. So this White woman needs to her her Master's. LOL

it is very hard to find qualified AA employees in many fields. many hired are unqualified.

I'm in the same field and agree. The days of advancing with a high school diploma and on the job experience are long gone. Not sure why OP thinks she's an exception to the rule.

it is very hard to find qualified AA employees in many fields. many hired are unqualified.


STEM fields aside, it is hard only for those who do want to look hard enough!

It is hard to find good help, period. But at least you can reject lighter-skinned unqualified applicants more easily as they will not sue for discrimination.

The government is full of bad people of ALL races. Plenty of old white men sitting around waiting until retirment. Many retired military who just wanted that double paycheck.

Black people already know they will have to be top notch to get a promotion. Meanwhile, the whites within just promote their friends no matter how idiotic they are and even if they are disliked by the masses.

The worst manager I had was a white woman. No one could stand her, she never knew what the heck was going on and honestly it was obvious she didn't want to be there. There was a Mexican girl in my office that got very bold and told the boss on a daily basis that she sucked. It was a terrible environment and I thank God I got out of there. But I found out that a year after I left, that manager quit.

It wasn't very long ago that minorities were virtual anomalies in the government and an applicant with a last name that sounded too "ethnic" like Garcia or Rodriguez or Williams or Jackson were immediately thrown in the trash.

Free jobs for all!

I know, let's start a dept that sorts and delivers mail, and pays 1000s of people 20-40 hour weeks jobs, full pensions and healthcare for life. Then make taxpayers backstop the liabilities!

Yea, because the legislators that YOU elected would not permit that "dept" to raise rates enough to actually cover their costs. An idiot can see that model would not work. But lets blame the rank and file employees who do NOT make those types of decisions.
