You do realize that the vast majority of people aren't thinking about your problems and the distant past when they run into you. They are probably just thinking you're odd or rude. |
Yeah, white people do have a problem with that. |
I know that my classmate was admitted because of affirmative action because she told me and the college told her. She was heavily recruited by the college because they needed black students to meet affirmative action goals for research programs they were doing for the government. As I said, I attended another college, which was actually a better fit for me. And I am doing just fine. I always wondered if the people who got into particular colleges because of affirmative action programs did well after they graduated from the school. Not sure why you are in such a snit. |
Why am I in a snit? Read your post again. If you cannot see why someone would be slightly put off by your implications, then I cannot help you. Do you ever think that she told you that to spare your ego? Most schools that I know do not tell the applicant that was the basis of their admission. I asked you the other questions because, based on your tone, you implied that your classmate was less qualified than you. You say affirmative action was THE reason...I asked if you knew the rest of her credentials. Why do you wonder if they did well? Seems to me that they would have similar success and failure stories as any other students. |
