Just out of curiosity, what is it that you do for society that makes you such a winner. I ask out of curiosity, as I said, not as an accusation -- you may indeed do something for which I am thankful every day of my life.

I'm not a "winner" any means. BUT I am aware and realistic about the situation we have all found ourselves in. I am willing to accept less, work harder, adapt and compete for the good of the country and the next generation. I recognize dead weight when I see it. These people have no character.

Yeah, I can't figure out whether he is stupid or really really cagey.

How about He's being realistic and responsible. Why don't you go and build a business, try to make a profit and then have to deal with these losers. If they are such great teachers, why don't they quit, start a school and crush the public schools with higher quality. Because they aren't so great and they have morphed into parasites. fortunately the money is used up and they are just screaming at a bankrupt pile of IOU's which is kind of funny.

Not the point of my post but go ahead and enjoy your pile of bile and self-pity anyway.

So the R's in Wisconsin admitted the bill had nothing to do with balancing the budget-- stripped all the immediate fiscal pieces out of the bill and passed the anti-union crap as a standalone bill.

And Republicans deficit spend.

this is great news. the civil service protection is in place, and the state and federal labor laws are in place. but now, public workers can decide for themselves whether or not they want to join a union and whether or not to have the dues come directly out of their paychecks.

Since when did hookers, blow, millions of dollars, some guns, a mansion, a #winning strategy based on the belief that you deserve every penny of your money and screw anyone who can't handle your success become a liberal lifestyle? Sheen's Warlock is Nietzsche's Superman, and Nietzsche is on the political right.

Politics aside, this is a good sign for staying in the stock market for now. Big cost savings have got to made in the states BUT if the federal gov doesn't end up with 10% less spending than 2008 soon then run for the gold/ commodity futures and SHORT the dollar because it will plummet.

So all the changes to workplace/worker protection over the past century ... are going to just have to go away because someone in China doesn't have them?

I'm honestly asking, I see your point, namely that we have to accept a reduction in our standard of living. Your response seems to be "accept the stick being rammed up the middle class's rear end", the folks in Wisconsin are deciding to protest, May 1968 style.

I was wondering when we'd be having our equivalent of the Winter of Discontent.

The union thing is nothing. This crap is really gonna hit the fan. Probably rediculous inflation and no growth would be the best we can hope for at this point unless we cut the federal government 30% across the board.
