The President is severely mentally ill, so if we have a severely mentally ill Senator, so be it.

In reply to the erroneous statement in the post above, I repost this information taken straight from the website of a law firm that specializes in helping veterans win their disability claims.

100% disabled by PTSD means the veteran is UNEMPLOYABLE. Full stop.

Again, if he deserves a 100% disability payment for PTSD he is not in any way fit to serve for office because one of qualifications is that you are so impaired that you can’t have a job, have hallucinations, etc. I don’t even vote so I could care less who wins, I’m just being real.

Based on his interviews and his penchant for pretending he’s a working class oyster farmer even though he was born into wealth and went to elite private high schools, I’d be willing to bet that if indeed is getting 100% disability checks for PTSD it is fraudulent because he does not come across as a sincere person. This is not about politics. It is about him as a person.

You can keep beating this drum but he's made himself very accessible and we can all hear him talk, think on the fly in interviews and long form conversations. He's better at it than most politicians. Not concerned about his mental faculties.

If his mental faculties are fine, then he’s no longer disabled by PTSD and he’s cheating the American taxpayers by continuing to collect 100% disability benefits. Why can’t you grasp this?

This is an obvious point. If anything, Platner should relinquish his 100% disability payment because as PP’s have noted you have to be REALLY messed up to get 100% disability. Ifa vet has a combination of multiple conditions (for example PTSD, bad knees, and a shoulder injury, they can mathematically add up to 100%. There are absolutely no income or work restrictions for a schedular rating.
