Why is your Dad playing girls youth soccer?

It all evens out in the end.

Ball hogs eventually meet even bigger ball hogs. In this situation if you dont have any other skills on the field welcome to the transfer portal.

Why would coaches waste time and money to go to Silverlake if they aren't recruiting from GA?

That's like saying just because someone has a car and is racing in Nascar, they're not trying to win races. Such a stupid comment and likely stupid person

While ECNL rules for the majority of P4 commits, their are still hundreds recruited from GA. You are actually the one with no clue. There are over 1,000 commitments each year to D1 alone and around a 70/30 split between ECNL/GA. You can't right off 300 players just because you have a clueless opinion. Their are quite a few players on the same level as the top ECNL players as well. I just watched those players for Tophat, SDA, among others.

Not sure if you are a VDA parent, but having someone like BP on your side is a difference maker. For better or for worse. Remember, just because your DD might go P4, it doesn't necessarily mean they belong. Just look at VT and JMU transfer portal alone. If your child goes P4, gets little to no minutes, is unhappy, transfers, she is either going to Mid-major, bottom D1, or quitting all together. With an attitude like some of you have, don't be surprised when you end up in this boat.

Our DD has had offers from P4, D1, D2, and DIII. DD is actually leaning DIII currently and the recruiting process is still heavily busy among mid-majors. P4s are pretty much wrapped up with a few spots still available. DD does not want to play P4 for multiple reasons. Personally I wanted her to take on the challenge but also understand the risks...We have received two emails just yesterday from more mid major D1 schools requesting a call. Both specifically mentioned watching her at Champions Cup. Both are also quality schools.

The only place where I would bash GA is the bottom table teams. Bottom table ECNL teams would likely beat bottom table GA teams by double digits. IMO, the majority of players on these GA teams will struggle to even play DIII while the ECNL counterpart should be able to play DIII easily.

This is from someone with an actual clue!

Let’s face if your daughter had these so called offers from P4 and D1 she wouldn’t be leaning DIII.

Maybe the worst take I have seen on this board and that is saying something. the final 4 teams in D3 were UofC, Emory, Tufts and WashU. 4 of the best schools in the nation playing high level soccer. My kid would play for any of the 4 of those schools before playing for 90% of D1 programs. But that is because we value academics highly, clearly unlike you. You go ahead and take the Univeristy of Arkansas Pine Bluff offer because they are D1 and I will send my DD to University of Chicago😂

I know the WashU program well. That team would be favored over at least half of D1 teams. Multiple players on that squad played high level GA and ECNL and had multiple D1 offers. Some kids just value education vs some mouth breathers on this board.

Fairfax Union or whatever it's called now has dropped significantly for similar reasons. All that's left is Arlington and VDA for decent ECNL teams. GA will soon surpass these clubs because it's a better turn league and has a strategic advantage with the boys teams in MLS next. These clubs all basically crap on girls soccer

Forget about ED or the Johnsons, those can barely communicate efficiently let alone coach young female athletes

Is it true VRSC is inviting him and his crew to leave the OneFamily?

The flip side of this is that 90% of D1 athletes couldnt even get into these 4 schools even with athlete consideration so they aren’t an option for many.

Parent was not talking about "any" D3. Parent said high Academic DIII. Yeah, you threw the first stone Kyle by insulting families who see no issue with DIII, questioning those who say they have offers and acting like DIII at a great school is the trash of the earth. Johns Hopkins > VT, Ohio State, and just about any P4.

I'll leave you with this. Top 50 Colleges Payscale average for US Department Of Education College Scorecard. Three out of the top 5 are DIII. The first P4 is not until #8 and not again til #15. I would love you to tell the FSU Women's Coach how bad DIII is! Seems his son is just fine at Tufts University and I am pretty sure he could have gone D1 if he wanted to. Facts don't care about your opinion so you should go pound sand.

My small college is not on this list, I didn’t play a sport either and my pay is more than double the top on the list. Go figure. There are some really dumb people arguing on this blog.

I see a lot of people from colleges on this list working as waiters and other jobs when they graduate. I also have met many and their intelligence isn’t very high. You all must be some of them.

Ok, debate has now grown tiresome. Parent is now arguing against facts in the sake of his/her own experience. Congrats you out performed the curve. We are all proud of you. It doesn’t mean much to us dumb parents who want to give our kids an advantage by attending a top academic college. Good luck VDA parent!!!

Why would they? Almost every team has improved vs. last year. The guy literally has multiple Nat’l Championships, USWNT and USYNT players under his belt.

It is a shame they didnt offer a statistics course at your small college. If they did you would realize that there are outliers. But if you think you have a better shot at success from Coppin State vs the University of Chicago you should really ask for your money back from that “small college” you attended…………..

It’s kind of a false choice. Nobody is choosing one of these paths over the other. Anyone who is able to be admitted to U of Chicago is not going to Coppin State instead just for soccer. The ones going to Coppin St for soccer are weighing it against the other schools they could go to without soccer.

Well, they didnt say which small college they went to or I would have used it instead as the sentiment would have been the same.

And the original asshat OP was really what this post was directed to, the one where they belittled a poster for saying they were weighing D3 offers.

At the end of the day, dumb kids that play high level soccer and smart kids that play high level soccer will find a school to fit their needs.

He clearly doesn't develop players. The ECNL teams in the area aren't much better. You have BP stealing talent from all the other clubs to stack teams.

Why would they? Almost every team has improved vs. last year. The guy literally has multiple Nat’l Championships, USWNT and USYNT players under his belt.

There are three GA coaches, CC, MJ, and JU. ED and JJ are just hanging around the sidelines and have nothing to do with the GA teams' performance this year, although they'll have a role for any future homegrown ulittle talent. CC has a track record that is matched by very few coaches in the DMV, that's just a fact, but things don't seem to be headed in the right direction for his teams. If he and VRSC parted ways, who would replace him? Hard to imagine the club could attract someone with a better track record. MJ used to coach at FCV (he left several years before CC) but he was not a GA coach there, and he coached some very bad VRSC teams before the GA era began. JU did not come to VRSC via FCV, he came through the boys side and this is his first year coaching with CC. What do people think about him? It's easy to complain about the coaches, but turning around a program as weak as VRSC's girls program was never going to happen overnight. Maybe it never will. FCV rarely developed ulittle talent, instead they stole it from other clubs, but VRSC is not in a position to steal top talent from anyone.
