Finally. It wasn't her best album - she was robbed when Lemonade lost. But so happy that Beyonce won Album. |
Album Cowboy sold less than 500k
Album Tortured Poet Society sold 1.9 million Taylor robbed all because JayZ pitched a fit last year. |
Eh, I love Bey but that album was not AOTY material. |
It was the least deserving in that category. |
Agreed. |
No wonder we are stuck with deplorable Trump for 4 more years. The left’s wokeness has no end or boundaries, as evidenced by tonight’s Grammys.
Signed, a registered Democrat who isn’t deaf and brainwashed. |
I just don’t get why she submitted TTPD instead of the Anthology. I love the Anthology songs and think they showcase her writing muscle better than the first half of the album. So glad Bey got her AOTY! Ready for it when you are, Tay! 🐍🐍🐍🐍 |
Taylor wasn’t robbed. She legit gamed sales by releasing multiple variants. And I’m a Swiftie! She won for AOTY last year for Midnights, not her strongest album at all. TTPD is too much - too many songs and neither the original nor anthology were cohesive. I also don’t agree with the win for Cowboy Carter. Chappell Roan should have won. That song crossed multiple audiences and legit had demand at largest festivals of the year. |
^^^ Album. Chappell’s Album should have won. |
Didn’t watch. What was so “woke”? (Shame that people changed the original meaning of woke.) |
Pathetic. Sabrina, Billie, Chappell and Taylor were shut out of the major categories. These ladies rocked the charts, streams, sales and performance venues all year long. |
Beyoncé won over the white girls |
Grammy awards are mostly garbage to “artists” peddling smut or overrated types like Beyoncé. |
Her album was basic. Lamar for song and record?!! Please. |
Agree regarding TTPD. Generally Grammy voters don't award Best New Artist and AOTY to the same person. It's happened a few times (Billie Eilish, Lauryn Hill) but it's really, really rare. Get Best New Artist is well deserved for Chappell Roan and she'll have more chances at AOTY. I am fine with Beyoncé getting AOTY even though Cowboy Carter is not her very best album. I do think she's been snubbed in the past (Lemonade) and I also think rewarding her for working outside her genre in a way that is both artistically interesting and commercially successful is valid. But I'm also someone who doesn't mind with the Grammy's are somewhat political. They are an industry aware and all industry awards are at least a little political. It's not the People's Choice. It's about artists and industry people deciding amongst themselves who to recognize. It will never be perfect and is not meant to reflect the will of the fans -- it's a reflection of what the industry is thinking. No more or less. |
