Actually great artists invite writers to elevate them and allow them to receive awards.

Jon Baptist does that for all his work.

So the actual perspective is wow she is so powerful 56 people are Emmy winners with her.

Some day younger artist will be able to elevate new artists the same way Beyoncé did.

Gracie Abrams sounds exactly like Taylor Swift- I find it creepy. Ariana Grande’s song sucks. I’d rather Good Luck Babe! Won song of the year- or Espresso. That being said Birds of a Feather is lazy writing- from the lyrics to the performance.

Everyone’s song was better than Kendrick’s.

I love Fortnight - both the song and her beautiful, artsy video. It was my most streamed song and album of 2024. I like Shaboozey too, his song is such a bop.
That said, Chappell or Billie should have won for Song of the Year.

Kendrick Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize in music in 2018. The Pulitzer Prize website called DAMN. "a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life."

It's the first time in the prize's history that it has been given to an artist outside of the classical or jazz community.

every single person in the Grammy audience was singing out 'A Minor' when he approached the stage. That song was song of the summer---at least those that can see outside of the teeny Swift pop music.

Even Taylor was crip walking, yelling out A minooooooooorrrrrrrr! and raising her glass to Kendrick. They go way back and her producer worked on GNX and a couple of the diss tracks. I don't like Taylor's music, but I know she is a music fan of many genres including rap.

Next year BTS will be back in play. Maybe a Kpop group will actually get nominated next year. Totally skipped the genre this year.

Gracie's nomination for Best New Artist was last year. She lost. And since Charli XCX was featured on Fancy a decade ago, I don't think she was eligible for Best New Artist either.

Birds of a Feather has 300 million more streams than all of the songs on Beyoncé’s album combined.

Who cares? This is the Grammys. Watch the iHeart music awards or whatever for most streamed song. That Billie Eilish song sucks.

Exactly. Dozens of co-writers, remakes of old songs e.g. Jolene, boring music, low sales, did not get played on mainstream radio, country radio or anywhere for that matter. I.e. not original, not written by her, not popular, no hits on it…
To win AOTY with these stats over the many other talented artists is WILD.

I think Chappell Roan had the best album of 2024, with TTPD a close runner up. Charlie xcx had the album that everyone under the age of 25 lost their mind to.
