DP. It’s appalling, isn’t it? I can’t believe someone took the time to look up the identities/professions of over 80 posters on that thread. I’m guessing googling each name was required since profiles don’t directly say they are teachers or where they teach.

I’m blown away that someone hates teachers that much. There are actually comments worse than the ones allegedly attributed to teachers, but those posters/professions weren’t criticized. So cherry-picked.

PP is not the only person to do this. When you post publicly on social media about your job, it can come back to bite you. You have a choice - can expend a ton of energy flipping out about an anonymous stranger who took the time to do it, or you can let it be a lesson for yourself that people can and will do things like this.

I don’t personally care because I don’t ever post on social media.

But if you’re going to attempt a point, then make it a good one. Most of those comments aren’t even that bad. And when you decide to paint an entire profession based off biased and incomplete Facebook “research,” then expect others to question it.

I’m left feeling sorry for the teachers who were targeted by PP, which probably wasn’t PP’s intention. (I guess I’m supposed to be mad at them?) Even Jeff weighed in on this in his daily comments. The teacher hate is out of control here.

Are you previous posters talking to yourselves at this point? Thursday school day and most after and evening activities have ended or are winding down. People seem to have moved on from why did they delay Wed and Thurs and why they reversed decision to not delay, and what if they try to reverse decisions in future to being apathetic until the next time (please no more ice).

The teachers had to rearrange their day and their week based on the delays and then switch them back. It was extra work that they didn't need. And many had to make plans for their own kids for the delay.

I would never tell my daughter to become a teacher especially with the hate that is directed towards them. A profession that is largely female based seems to get the short end of the stick.

As does most women's experience of motherhood

It's fine if you don't think those comments reflected poorly on the teachers who made them, but obviously others disagree.
