Wrong. Take back your words from MAGA.

How do you “take back” random capitalizations that were never a thing before?

By being intelligent enough to see that just because capitalizations have been used by a loathsome man, they're are not contaminated. It's just words. Take them in the spirit they're meant, instead of always nitpicking MCPS. For once, they made the right decision. Why can't you just be glad?!?!

MCPS can't win with you people. You're just nasty and exhausting.

This!

+1. I was very critical in the other thread, and I hope there's some learning that comes from this, both in terms of how and when decisions are made and how decisions are communicated, but this is the right call. I'm glad they made it.

They didn't even apologize in their message. More signs they are not just incompetent, but also entitled and self-absorbed.

No, MCPS staff that post here claiming MCPS is "free", constantly bash parents and refuse to apologize for their blatant incompetence are nasty and exhausting.

"an MCPS Moment of Joy"

Should be "a MCPS moment".

Nobody’s ever happy. They close, people complain. They open, people complain. They give notice, people complain. They reevaluate, people complain. They give short notice, people complain.

I'm sure everyone at central office is telling each other this..none of you folks bothered to look around and notice no other employer besides schools had so much as a delay this week. You all wanted to party and sleep in instead of even just letting the child care providers open. You deserve all the heat you get.

Taylor is new. Give him a break. Next winter will probably be less chaotic

It's the DCUM way.

He's not new to leading a school system. And parents have been asked to put up with a lot. Low literacy rates, sexual predators promoted and paid off, and now just flagrant disdain for working parents. If you ask me, giving MCPS "a break" is a terrible idea.

Agreed. And making this call during the school day, rather than waiting until tonight, is going to help to get the word out.

True. This doesn't speak well for the other MCPS staff that advise on these decisions, though.

Most of McPS comms are terrible. This one at least was clear and without grammatical error.

What do you want MCPS to apologize for?
