How to know a college is safe for POC

OP here, and honestly wanting this thread closed, because it has not been productive and has only invited bigots.
DC changed his application to regular decision, seeing as Pomona has not demonstrated it can continue to support students of color being represented in its community.
DC is not going to an HBCU, as much as people here assert that he must, because he wants to go to a school that has peers at a similar academic level and is interested in a diverse community, not just a black one. At the same time, he'd enjoy having a black community at his school for support.
We will be looking more into Duke, UMD, Columbia, and a few other colleges that he prefers.

Asian here. Yeah, for LACs, the discrimination was against mostly non-athlete white kids.

There is really no need to be concerned for his safety at any of the schools at that level.
If your son's grandparents were born in America, then your son is a unicorn.
He will have to choose his mentors carefully but there will be no shortage of candidates for that position.
For most kids, the specific members of the faculty aren't that important, but for your son, it might be.
A well connected professor that is invested in your son's future can be more important than the name on his diploma.

OP the racial climate has changed in this country--and I think we get it the worst from other "POCs", not whites. They think we have squandered the opportunities that the U.S. has while they and their relatives cannot have all of it foe themselves and the whites they want approval from.
