Kamala Harris Says Anyone Who Breaks Into Her House Is ‘Getting Shot’

Some require reasonable retreat first, or response commensurate with the offense - is the entered demonstrating attempt to use deadly force, or is it an unarmed burglary or even drunken person entering wrong house.

If we are meaning talk about gun control, our leaders should talk responsibly about the topic and not just make little quips

Reasonable retreat?! Do you mean after your polite, calm request asking them to please leave? How close to you or your loved ones will you let them get?

You're an idiot. A complete idiot. You make Trump and Biden seem like smart people.

Just call 911 and let the police handle it. Vigilanteism is not the answer Kamala!

911 isn't the answer when strangers are already in your home seeking to do harm. Harris, just like the rest of us smart people, will choose to protect her family while you cower in the corner waiting to be shot or raped. Dimwit.

Campaign spokesman said Harris doesn't own any guns.

Harris just meant someone who breaks into their home will be vaccinated.

PP here. You might want to think about what an intruder can do to you, your loved ones, and your home in the 12 to 15 minutes before the police can get there.

Statistically, she is placing her husband and step daughter at far greater risk of being shot than some imagined assailant in some imagined wild-west shoot-out in her home.

Violence is never the right answer.

Ok, so you need to go back to your RFK Jr./QAnon forums so the adults with common sense can move this conversation forward.

You need to know the laws in your state. In some states (I believe MA for instance) you have to prove there was intent to cause bodily harm before deadly force is enacted. An unarmed intruder/robber may not qualify. A family member you don’t like coming to talk to you, other people who have your key - you can’t just shoot them if you can’t show they demonstrated intent to seriously harm you.

Know the laws…

It was an irresponsible offhand comment about a serious issue

Protection is the right answer when criminals break into your home. In our home, we have no guns, but I'm beginning to think one is needed. For now, any intruder will be met by an 80 lb dog.

Laws and common sense aren't always aligned. When it comes to protecting family in the privacy of one's own home, normal people with intelligence will choose to protect their families regardless of how that may conflict with a law. Normal people with intelligence will not shoot family members or other people who have their house key. They will shoot uninvited strangers that have entered their homes because those types of people have bad intentions. See how common sense works?

There are laws for a reason and gun owners should know them. A unarmed teenager breaking in to quickly steal your purse - ok to shoot him?

Our officials in charge of changing gun laws - should at least acknowledge there are LAWS.

No one should break into someone else's home. That teenager is a criminal.
