According to the state, they embarrassingly used Scott’s own lies to Amber about wanting to be with her forever (lies he obviously just said to get in her pants) and used that as the key state evidence of Scott’s guilt. That isn’t really evidence though of anything. Scott love bombed all his affair partners, many declined to have anything to do with the case after the defense badgered them to come forward. The prosecution’s case was Scott was madly in love with Amber and would do anything to be with her including kill Laci and that couldn’t be further from the truth and it’s actually disrespectful to Laci. A guy like Scott loved Lacis hero worship. He married her for a reason and he wasn’t looking to get rid of Lack for Amber despite his claims to Amber about his wife being “gone”. That’s just what Cheaters say. Do you think he’d get in Ambers pants if he called her what she really was to him? An easy lay. |
Maybe in your warped opinion but he’s not getting out any time soon. It’s been 20 years and now a self promoting shady legal group has decided to look into it. This will go nowhere. If Mark Geragos couldn’t get him off these clowns have no hope. |
So on this documentary, they had two guys from the jury. At first they sounded like they didn't think Scott did it, then the documentary jumps to the guilty verdict (which seemed to come in quickly - wasn't clear.) I wished they'd asked the jurors more questions about the thought process. Or did I miss it?

So you acknowledge Scott is a lying liar. Why should we believe anything he says? But also there are many recorded phone calls of him telling Amber they would be wonderful together. Scott probably didn’t mean it, but he said it. He was a man who clearly didn’t want to be married with a kid. You’re acting like this is open to debate when it has already been determined. Scott’s legal challenges haven’t really gone anywhere. They asked for multiple items to be DNA tested, he was granted only one. |
I hope it is re-opened. Lots of things like the orange van and the duct tape and Lacis clothes should’ve been examined. Scott said Laci was wearing black pants that morning and the eyewitnesses who said they saw a pregnant woman with a. Golden retriever that morning also reported she had dark brown hair and was wearing black maternity pants. When Laci was found dead, she had on tan pants which was what she wore on the 23rd of December when they went out to Lacis sister’s salon. The prosecution used that as evidence that Scott possibly killed her that evening on the 23rd. The clothes should’ve been examined. They didn’t even run a rape kit on Laci. Nothing.. They just assumed Scott did it and not some other perp |
Amber had a kid. After knowing him less than 2 weeks, she asked Scott to pick her 3 year daughter up from preschool. If he hated kids, why would he want to play stepdad to her kid and why did he agree to pick the kid up from pre-K multiple times? There’s zero evidence Scott didn’t want to be a dad. He and Laci were married since 1997, and decided to wait till they bought a home and were financially stable to have kids. That’s not unusual that he didn’t want kids earlier in the marriage before he had money. Scott didn’t ask Laci for abortion or to get on birth control and he helped decorate Connors nursery with fishing decor. Laci said that was his touch and he was so happy he was having a son. |
Also in cases where women are murdered by their spouses, there often is a history of DV (Nicole Brown Simpson among others).
There was no history of DV between Scott and Laci. Strangulation is very personal and very angry. Scott didn’t harbor that for Laci. You think they woke up and watched Martha Stewart together and he suddenly out of the clear blue sky pummeled her to the ground and killed her and then took her dead body on a long walk from the parking lot to the bay and lugged her on a tiny fishing boat, tied with super heavy anchors and cinderblocks, and pushed her over the water all without capsizing the boat or creating a public scene? |
The body had been in the water for months. Would not have been effective. Scott could have taken a lie detector test, been more interested in finding Laci, not try to run off to Mexico, and many other missteps if he actually wanted people to believe in his innocence. Even the burglars from across the street readily agree to the lie detector. Why not Scott/ |
Yep, he could have done all that. He seemed well prepared with his tarps, umbrellas, anchors, boat, and pliers with her hair on them. |
Walk me through how pliers have to do with anything or a small fishing boat only big enough to hold one adult. This is the boat. Note the height and depth. While rowing, he was able to tie her up to anchors in plain sight to everyone, dismember her, and push her overboard without capsizing? ![]() The two of their bodies together wouldve been bigger than the boat |
Note how the other fishing boat is in plain sight. How would he have been able to pull this off in broad daylight with witnesses around? |
The defense did a re-enactment of the state’s supposed fishing boat burial and the boat capsized showing it would’ve been physically impossible for Scott to do. The judge didn’t allow the video to be seen by the jury.

Picking a kid up from school once to get in her mom’s pants is not the same as supporting a kid with child support for the rest of their life. It’s amusing you’re trying to equate the two as if husbands don’t kill their wives and children all the time because they think they will get way with it. And don’t want the financial fall out and entanglement from divorce. He just wanted to make them disappear, problem solved. |
The defense put this out and they clearly did not want it to work and lo and behold it didn’t. This isn’t an unbiased reenactment. |
Not if she was already in pieces easily thrown overboard. She was tiny at 5’0”. Scott is 6’0”. Shes basically the size of a 5th grader. |
