No, itunes. So there is no returning/cancelling the order. If I had done so on her site would she have thrown in the additional songs or still treated a 2 separate albums? The prices are slightly different. |
I just googled searched this. She was born in West Reading PA, spent her earlier years on a Christmas tree farm in PA. Moved to Wyomissing PA. Looks like her family did summer vacationsin Stone Harbor, but she never lived or went to school there. To help her break in to the country music scene they moved to Nashville at 14. Its clear her parents wanted this for her. But she really did not have any connections in the music industry… And just to say that they had marketing connections and that’s the reason for her success is a weird reach. They like any parents of kids who started young clearly helped her break into the industry. But how many tens of millions of kids have parents trying to do that and don’t succeed? or how many kids are born to famous actors and musicians and still have at best mediocre talent? |
Apparently you need “marketing connections”, and a background in mutual funds helps. The secret sauce! |
What did that poster lie about? She's from an UMC family and was marketed well. It doesn't mean she has zero talent. Lots of people have talent and never make it big. |
Force their poor parents? If it were up to my kids they’d probably eat chipotle and Chick-fil-A every day. But I’m the parent so I get to decide that’s not best. No one is forced to buy multiple albums folks. Just like there’s no reason for me to have like 4 pairs of jeans. I’m sure some company somewhere is manipulating me, but ultimately I can stop the madness. |
I didn’t say lie I said make up random crap. They acted as if her parents were some insane financial geniuses rather than just upper middle-class folks with fairly normal professional jobs. Please point to me these insane marketing connections that are solely responsible for Taylor’s rise. It’s just a way of putting her success off of her and onto someone else and it’s really pathetic. Happens all the time and I’ll call it out. |
Born in PA. Wiki doesn’t list her living in NJ. |
mkay. Did Taylor call you and give you the inside scoop? Please let us know the right answer. |
You think she was an overnight success without help? Connections help making it in life. |
The songs all sound the same and like they were written while she was drunk. |
Her parents absolutely helped her, because she was a teen when she went to Nashville and they made that career move happen. It's not like it's a secret or something atypical for young stars at all. In fact, Taylor Swift herself has talked about it and she has given credit to her parents for it. Talent alone is NEVER how fame and success happens. There's always luck, timing, a good push by someone. |
Of course they helped her. But they didn’t make it happen, she did. |
NP. It’s weird how the Taylor fans are exactly as obsessed as the people who hate her |
Yeah, I'm not impressed with the "two(!!!) albums." She should have culled and revised to create one tight album of 12 songs. Even NYT's review is titled "Taylor could use an editor." |
Right? Not to mention, the vast majority of her listeners are adults, not kids. |
