America was founded on religious freedom; why do atheists want to ban organized religion?

People just want to ban organized religions to control matters of state or infringe upon individual rights and freedoms.

Mass scamming? People are getting scammed all day long everyday by scammers, not religious scammers, people impersonating the IRS or FBI, or phishing, etc. The government needs to stop those scammers.

People can’t ban organized religion, the laws of our country stand up for our religious freedoms in America. My religious freedom doesn’t infringe on anyone or anything. You aren’t guaranteed a life free of religion in America- the government just can’t establish a state religion.

Most of us support ban religious freedom no more than we support ban on books or taking away bodily anatomy. Individual rights matter, religious rights matter.

The Bill of Rights protects freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to keep and bear arms, the freedom of assembly and the freedom to petition. It also prohibits unreasonable search and seizure, cruel and unusual punishment and compelled self-incrimination.

People try to ban everything specifically listed above, there is never a time our rights aren’t under attack.

Next time you see a post here that is made by someone who doesn’t respect religious rights in our country, don’t ignore it. People are operating under the erroneous assumption that religion needs to be “kept away” from the public or only can exist in a religious setting/building or private home.

Religious people are allowed and have protected rights to be religious in public.

Look at our White House- it’s a government building and it’s fully decorated for Christmas, with Christmas trees and thousands of dollars of christmas decorations.

People absolutely get scammed by religions and religious people. Do those mass church "preachers" need another private yet? And pay 0 taxes?
At least some of those other scammers actually *need* money, most of these religious nuts do not.

What on earth are you saying? Some scammers are ok because they *need* money?

You cannot be serious in your post stating that it’s ok the scam people!

Arent you the one saying xmas trees are secular? So technically, its just decorated up for the holidays.

But I guess youre also totally cool with the Satanic altar in the Iowa capital building? You agree that the person who destroyed this religious altar should be punished to the highest degree of the law? He did violate religious freedoms after all. He violated the constitution!

Recent data from the Federal Trade Commission underscores the scale of the problem. The FTC found Americans in 2022 lost $8.8 billion to fraud, a staggering amount that was up more than 30% from the previous year.

So the $8.8 billion scammmed and taken from American citizens in 2022 was ok because the people who are out there defrauding and scamming people “need the money?”

What are those scammers spending their stolen money on?

Show me the data on fraud from religious organizations/people as well - oh wait, you can't, because its untaxed and hidden by these shady organizations.

What does Satan have to do with Christmas?

Religious freedoms. Keep up, now!

So you agree that someone who destroyed a religious altar in a government building should be prosecuted to the highest extent of the law?

It just happens to be a religion you arent. You can't just protect "your" religion if you want religious freedom for all.

Why do Satanists want to put satanic altars in government buildings at Christmas? Is it how they celebrate Christmas? What does a satanic altar at Christmas signify? When did Satanists start celebrating Christmas?

Are you on the wrong thread? This thread isnt about xmas. Its about banning religion.

You are clearly avoiding the question because you dont agree with a santanic altar in a government building. You only think your special religion should get these special treatments.

The Satanic Temple makes clear that its members do not actually worship the devil nor do they believe in either Satan’s existence or the supernatural. Instead Satan is used as a symbol of free will, humanism and anti-authoritarianism.

So Satanism really isn’t a religion. Satanists don’t believe in the supernatural, they don’t believe in Satan. They believe in free will, humanism, and are anti-authoritarian.

None of those things are a religion or are religious beliefs.

So what does a Satanic altar represent, in a religious context? Satanists don’t even believe in Satan, they are putting a symbol of something they don’t believe in in public and saying what: here’s something we don’t believe in?
