This. While a few families have enough to have 10 million places all over, or are willing to be heavily invested in real estate (at least one has to be true), most would rather have 2-3 million dollar properties in 2-3 places, and then to have investments outside of real estate. |
| Lots of public schools. If smart, they know the danger of keeping the kids in a bubble. |
’ Wait, a student who does not want a joyless grind would choose sidwell? I thought you were describing sidwell. |
St John's does. This is not something new in the world of high school sports. Some schools do it, some don't - some do it just for certain sports. Sidwell does it for tennis and basketball. Other schools do it for lacrosse, or whatever.... It's life. If you don't like it, choose a school that doesn't have sports teams or one that doesn't recruit for sports. |
Superior, how? 🙄 No, spoken like someone who loves her children and actually enjoys spending time with them. My children have attended a “Big 3” since kindergarten. Money and/or jealousy isn’t the issue. Btw, I’ll send my children to “boarding school” when they’re 18. It’s called college. I’m in no rush…unlike you. |
You thought wrong, Sidwell hater. Worry about your child’s education at Bullis, Flint Hill, or Burke. |
I meant other schools of the same academic caliber. |
Based on many of these posts, no one cares if SJC, Gonzaga, or other schools recruit for various sports. It’s only a problem if Sidwell does it. |
That’s my point. It’s as if schools are only allowed to be superior in one area—academics OR sports. The prevailing sentiment seems to be, “ how dare Sidwell excel in both areas!” |
Obviously, that’s Sidwell’s choice. I never said or thought “how dare they”. That said, I do find it surprising and a bit pathetic. |
This is so funny it made me giggle. So untrue, so hopeful and still so wrong. What’s clear is that PP doesnt know anyone with real wealth. |
What exactly is pathetic about it? Our kids are friends with tennis players and they are no different from any other student. |
To add - I find it far more pathetic that Sidwell seeks out VIP and legacy families who can afford to buy educational privilege. |
Pathetic because Sidwell is dominating DMV schools in academics, basketball, and tennis?!? Pathetic indeed! 😂 |
Academics? Ah, no. Tennis? Maybe girls but not all around. Hoops? Didn’t Visi beat you last year? |
