I mean he made that video for “Cry Me A River” which basically put her in the worst light possible and when asked if she cheated on him, her response was “Justin is not technically right or technically wrong” which many took to mean she did cheat on him.

So I think the fact that she kept this all inside for two decades speaks volumes in regard to her character.

She sounds like she wanted to keep the baby while Justin did not.
I can see both sides to this.
At 19, their musical careers were in full swing and a baby would have definitely changed things.
Though now a days it would be easier since people are less judgmental about stuff like this.

However Britney could have carried the baby to term had she truly wanted to - I just think at her tender age she wasn’t mentally prepared to raise a child alone.
Plus who wants to have someone’s child knowing the other parent doesn’t want it??

I’m curious to see how Justin responds to this if he decides to.
He painted himself as the victim in their breakup for all this time and it is sad that Britney took the fall when she herself had things she endured as well. 😓

Was this the cause of their breakup? Or did they stay together after this and only break up after she cheated?

Her cheating is not undisputed. He pushed that narrative and people just accept it. Her version was that she had a flirtation with someone else but it didn’t escalate to cheating.

She admitted cheating via kissing. It wasn’t just a flirtation.

Wasn't it also with Wade Robeson, who was his best friend?

He was her choreographers, was he tight with Justin?

I loved N Sync back in the day (JC forever) but he cowrote a bunch of stuff on Pop with JT, choreographed that tour and maybe another one and was featured as the choreographer on making the video for at least Pop and Bye Bye Bye. He was tight with JT and N Sync and then was completely dropped by them around this time. It's long been speculated he was the one Britney cheated with.

I know way too much about N Sync...

Per the title, Britney revealed that she had an abortion while in a relationship with Timberlake because he “didn’t want to be a father.” Yikes. I’m pro choice, but the phrasing isn’t a good look for him.

They were like 17 and 18 years old. Of course he didn't want to be a father.

+1 he made the rational choice that any reasonable 18yo would make. How many people would want their teen-years dirty laundry now aired for the world?

Rational to terminate a viable baby? They were healthy multi-millionaire ADULTS.

That would be born to a mom not equipped to raise children (look at how she's doing with the 2 she did give birth to) and to a dad who didn't want the kid. Sounds awesome.

Again, they were both multi-millionaire adults with more resources than anyone their age. Her own sister gave birth to a beautiful daughter when she was even younger. I guess her sister should have killed the baby too. The fact that her sister didn’t likely underscores the mistake Britney made and adds to her trauma.

Wow, who knew money and "resources" was all it took to be a great parent?

To be fair, that’s only about 80% of it.

$$$$$$$$$

Well, that and vengeance.

He didn’t want to be a parent and said so. In the end, she didn’t either. She wasn’t victimized. She was the only party who ever had a say in what would happen to her pregnancy.

People blaming Justin for Britney’s meltdown should focus instead on her parents, especially her father.

No, the victimization came when she was asked on a national platform if she had had sex. AND when the father of her embryo discussed their sex life on a national platform.

I agree her parents and Dad were no help.

I’m not saying Justin wasn’t an ass. I’m saying that by the time she was a famous pop star, the damage was already done, whether from genetics or her upbringing, before she ever met Justin.

It seems like everyone in her life used her. So sad.

It's pretty obvious to me she had a ghost writer. I highly doubt Britney can write a coherent paragraph after seeing some of the stuff she writes on social media.

Isn't that what narcissism looks like? Being used and mistreated by everyone?

The story on this thread, that she was pregnant with JT's baby and had an abortion, is being spun to be part of her victimhood narrative. But having a BF, getting pregnant, deciding not to keep the baby, these may be regrets but that doesn't mean she was used. She was living a life.

Maybe she's being used by publishing this book.

Oh she definitely did, I think that’s been confirmed, but I still don’t understand how she could be involved in a lucid, honest way. It does appear to be another money grab.

Maybe, but maybe none of you have ever been under someone’s abusive control in that way. When you get out, it takes a while to trust ANYONE. You don’t trust yourself, your own instincts, you can’t judge who will help you and who will hurt you yet.

I’m not saying she doesn’t have mental health issues, but I am also not convinced that she doesn’t get to reclaim and reflect about events in her life.

I was never Britney's biggest fan but middle age has brought me realizing that Timberlake was actually a terrible person in his 20s.

there are way too many people bringing life into this world who really shouldn't have.

I love my own niece and nephew, but they honestly never should have been. Had my in-laws not stepped in to house and support them, I don't even know what would have happened. We very seriously considered filing for custody at one point. My BIL did admit to being an addict eventually and has cleaned himself up. But, honestly, he is now tied to the worthless mother of his kids because they procreated when they shouldn't have.

And that was a GOOD outcome - there was a story in the Post at one point that will forever haunt me where a young child wound up eaten by the family pigs. Possibly fed to them by their parents. Kid fell through the cracks and social services hadn't been checking in. That child NEVER should have been brought into this world to suffer the abuse they suffered and to die in such a horrific manner.

I'm sorry, but yes, some people have no business procreating and abuse and damage their children when they do, some to the point of manslaughter or murder. Those kids were better off not born.

being a terrible person doesn't necessarily mean he had her under his "control" or that he "abused" her

I just am not going to say her having an abortion was his fault. She ultimately had the choice what to do.

So, what? Who cares what the sister did? Different people. Different decisions. And your use of "killed the baby" is inflammatory and unnecessary. Shame on you.

Britney's career wouldn't have ended if she had a baby at 19 or 20. Reese Witherspoon had a few around that age and is still an A-list movie star.

Reese Witherspoon basically had a shotgun marriage to Ryan Phillipe, who wound up being a massive jackoff. She then remarried, had a third child with husband #2, and is now divorcing him.

Acting is a LITTLE different than being a pop star. Reese was also born rich.

No. It sounds like her dad did that. I don’t think the conservatorship was done in a way that promoted her mental health. I think she WAS used by her dad during it and she had very little say.

You're really twisting yourself into a pretzel. A Justin and Britney baby would have been healthy and beautiful...and fine. There was no good reason to terminate it. It's sad. And it's understandable that such a life event would cause permanent trauma. Especially since she's probably pre-menopausal and knows she can't have enough baby.
