Britney Spears reveals she had an abortion… with hers and Justin Timberlake’s baby.

Notice how the terms “pressured” and “forced” are being used to make things sound extra sinister.

He didn’t want to be a parent and said so. In the end, she didn’t either. She wasn’t victimized. She was the only party who ever had a say in what would happen to her pregnancy.

People blaming Justin for Britney’s meltdown should focus instead on her parents, especially her father.

Per the title, Britney revealed that she had an abortion while in a relationship with Timberlake because he “didn’t want to be a father.” Yikes. I’m pro choice, but the phrasing isn’t a good look for him.

They were like 17 and 18 years old. Of course he didn't want to be a father.

+1 he made the rational choice that any reasonable 18yo would make. How many people would want their teen-years dirty laundry now aired for the world?

Rational to terminate a viable baby? They were healthy multi-millionaire ADULTS.

That would be born to a mom not equipped to raise children (look at how she's doing with the 2 she did give birth to) and to a dad who didn't want the kid. Sounds awesome.

Again, they were both multi-millionaire adults with more resources than anyone their age. Her own sister gave birth to a beautiful daughter when she was even younger. I guess her sister should have killed the baby too. The fact that her sister didn’t likely underscores the mistake Britney made and adds to her trauma.

The sister lost her entire blossoming career and became nothing more than a stay at Home teenage mom. Brittany is her entire family’s meal ticket including paying for said sister and baby. You are way too naive to think that her parents would have actually allowed Brittany the same fate by having that baby.

Exactly. No way her parents were letting their meal ticket get off that path

Oy vey she lost her “career” on a Nickelodeon show because she chose life for her daughter? Wow just wow. That career track always leads to so many good things for the hundreds of other damaged and destroyed Nickelodeon alumni…

So, what? Who cares what the sister did? Different people. Different decisions. And your use of "killed the baby" is inflammatory and unnecessary. Shame on you.

Wow, who knew money and "resources" was all it took to be a great parent?

She still lost her career and all sponsorships and ended up having no career. Luckily she had a rich sister to fall back on instead of being yet another teenage statistic on welfare. I don't think they had teen mom on MTV yet to live off that exploitation.

I feel sorry for her two sons. Hopefully they won’t be too traumatized from growing up with a mentally ill parent and will not inherit or pass it on.
Signed,
Daughter of a mentally ill person

+1 This. I don't think people are understanding the extent of mental illness in that family -- for sure, her dad and his mother. I don't know about Britney's mom and extended family.

No, the victimization came when she was asked on a national platform if she had had sex. AND when the father of her embryo discussed their sex life on a national platform.

I agree her parents and Dad were no help.

I mean he made that video for “Cry Me A River” which basically put her in the worst light possible and when asked if she cheated on him, her response was “Justin is not technically right or technically wrong” which many took to mean she did cheat on him.

So I think the fact that she kept this all inside for two decades speaks volumes in regard to her character.

She sounds like she wanted to keep the baby while Justin did not.
I can see both sides to this.
At 19, their musical careers were in full swing and a baby would have definitely changed things.
Though now a days it would be easier since people are less judgmental about stuff like this.

However Britney could have carried the baby to term had she truly wanted to - I just think at her tender age she wasn’t mentally prepared to raise a child alone.
Plus who wants to have someone’s child knowing the other parent doesn’t want it??

I’m curious to see how Justin responds to this if he decides to.
He painted himself as the victim in their breakup for all this time and it is sad that Britney took the fall when she herself had things she endured as well. 😓

Was this the cause of their breakup? Or did they stay together after this and only break up after she cheated?

Her cheating is not undisputed. He pushed that narrative and people just accept it. Her version was that she had a flirtation with someone else but it didn’t escalate to cheating.

She admitted cheating via kissing. It wasn’t just a flirtation.

Wasn't it also with Wade Robeson, who was his best friend?

As a longtime Britney fan and follower, it’s very clear she’s unwell. Honestly, I don’t understand how this book was even written. I’m not saying these things didn’t happen to be clear but the present picture is just so sad and troubling.

Accurately describing what she did it "inflammatory"? No, it's not. She killed a baby. Her kid sister in a similar situation, at an even younger age, did not kill a baby. Britney is describing this abortion trauma in her book. It is not a leap to suggest this immediate first-hand experience with her sister made the trauma that much more acute and contributes to her issues to this day. Especially as she sees her kid sister's baby grow into a young adult woman. That niece is a beautiful but sad reminder of what she did and what Justin (and the wicked money-hungry people around her) coerced her into doing.

Britney's career wouldn't have ended if she had a baby at 19 or 20. Reese Witherspoon had a few around that age and is still an A-list movie star.

Since when do you have to be a "great parent" (whatever THAT means ) or "equipped" (whatever THAT means ) to bring life into the world? Who measures these traits in prospective parents? Anyone who doesn't live up to your capacity to be parents should abort, is that what you're saying? Two healthy multi-millionaire pop stars with access to two sets of married UMC parents, first-class doctors, food, diet, nannies, private tutors, private schools, mansions aren't "equipped" to handle a baby.
