The house security is $50/hr, security that goes out with the client is $100/hr. Most families have 2 house security and 2 security for the principal (one for parents, one for the kids). So that’s 8 people per day, $50 x 5 people x 12hrs and $100 x 3 people x 12hrs because night shift only needs me security. That is at a minimum, $6600 per day x 365 days = over $2.4 million per year. They can’t run that cost through their (scam) charity, so that’s not sustainable.

Add in nanny salaries ($100k) x 2 because I’m sure they have rota childcare, 2-3 housekeepers ($150-200k per year), estate manager ($100-150k), personal assistant ($75k), plus all the gardeners and maintenance staff.

Total over 3 million a year.

These numbers are insane.

Nanny again - Ive worked for families who usually have 8-10 security daily (4-5 people, per 12hr shift). My numbers are on the low end, because I’ve seen junior house security for $50/hr, more experienced house security is $80. The security for the principal/kids can go from $100-120/hr. There’s no way they have less than 8 people per day, because daytime you need one for the gate, one who never leaves the control room cameras, two for the principals when they go out. Evening, they need one for the principal and 3 for the house.

The family I work for has 5 security per shift (10 per day) because when we go out, there’s always 3 cars. First car is the lead, with one security. Second car is the principal with one security driving. Third car is the chase, with one security driving. Fourth and fifth security stays at the house. The fifth security is for the kids, because when we go out alone, we don’t need a lead and chase, that’s only with the parents. For sure, Meghan and Harry have 8 total per day, as they have a big property so mostly security is for the house. I don’t think they have a lead and a chase in Montecito, maybe when they go to LA.

Anyway, all that is to say their lifestyle is very expensive and with staff alone, they’re paying at least 3 million a year. I also forgot to mention a chef in my initial calculations!

Glad to see DCUM has moved past immediately hurling “you are racist” retorts to posts critical of MM. Lots of people saw this coming…

Stay my a$$ right there in the UK, smiling, waving, shaking hands, holding babies, popping out as many kids as Harry wants and kissing up to Kate and Will. How hard is it??? Just dumb.

Maybe that is not the life everybody wants. You sound like a housewife from the 50s.

Certainly a big step up from aging D-lister screwing fat producers for acting work or being a yacht girl.

They are toxic. Why would Dior give someone who is not aspirational a boatload of money? It would harm their brand. The gravy train is over. Their next gig will be a reality TV show on Bravo.

They hired Johnny Depp.

Depp has a long tenure with Dior. And Depp is a bonafide A-list movie star.

I don't think it's a pap walk because she's not made up to the usual degree. Looks a little rough in fact.

Right. I think in the midst of being photographed, she realized the paps were watching her and removed her sweater to try and look a little more professional. But she's usually made up and fake smiling when she know she's being photographed. Here she seemed serious/engrossed and not smiley and happy.

Paps are there because she calls them. Their house is several acres, she doesn't have to go for a "walk" around a neighborhood unless she wants to be seen.

He’s not eligible bc he’s a British royal. Mixed loyalty.

+1 They were so smug about getting revenge on those who 'wronged' them and raced to cash in on what amounted to tabloid fodder. But once the lucrative tabloid stuff was exhausted (ands there was so little 'there' there--reluctance to share lip gloss srsly?) no one cares. It was incredibly bad strategy. The ego in the poor decisions is mind-boggling.

They weren’t counting on being cut off from the funding stream of the BRF especially for security, and also weren’t counting on having HRH titles revoked and being cut off from all royal connection/access. Without that they are just pathetic nobodies. They can only sell their story once and the BRF is giving them nothing else to sell.
And their continued approach of rejecting the family while cashing in on their association with it is off-putting to a lot of people. They have huge balls but very little talent.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer couple!

This. Once you start selling your access it’s game over on the A list. Turns out you still need actual talent, projects and work.

I lived in the UK for a number of years and the press used to love him. He was the naughty, cute brother. It is alarming how much that has changed. I think there is no way back for him, no matter what. I hope he finds another path.

He’s sixth in line to the throne. The way back for him is without Meghan. Meghan has no way back ever.

And that’s a drop in the bucket when you consider they charter private planes, have a team of lawyers in the UK and US, have publicists, agents, accountants, stylists, reportedly have a mortgage on their $14M home, and let’s not forget federal and state taxes on any earnings.

No celebrity wanted to be associated with them. And it turns out it wasn't so much a discussion with MM -- just her monologing and splicing the celeb being interviewed by a producer

Yep, their lack of professionalism means no real celebrity wants to work with them.

She needs to develop a thicker skin and a sense of humor if she hopes to continue interviewing the A-list. Her overreaction to Mariah Carey's referring to her as a diva revealed her deep insecurities.

The cardinal sin she has made is no longer making it about the work. It’s about her and their gossip. They made that their product. Huge mistake. No one trusts them now and they look like amateurs.

Megan should have stayed in her own career, which had a modicum of potential.

Say what you will but Kate is kind of a relented genius when it comes to character. Her brand is based on actual content at this point. People really admire how she has handled herself and her family under tremendous pressure and scrutiny, for decades.

If she signs with a French brand that would be another huge FU to the BRF. The French know this and would find it entertaining.
