Exactly. And everyone I know who works in SCIFs is under strict rules about phones and cameras.

Agree. It bugs the heck out of me when posters just generalize, conflate and make assumptions. I have no problem if this guy turns out to be a Q/MAGA conspiracy theorist of the worst type, but this is NOT what was reported. Be accurate, people! This is how you start tons of disinformation online. We already have too much of that.

We don’t really know what his motives were yet. But he appears to have used cult leader tactics to operationalize a group of kids.

I just watched the Boston Bombing doc on Netflix. The FBI had images of the suspects fairly quickly and were determining the identity when someone leaked the images. I got the sense it was BPD, but idk. Anyways, the reason the FBI and DOJ didn't want to release them was b/c they didn't want to alert the bombers that they were on to them. Ultimately, FBI had to get out ahead of the leak, and then there was a lot of death and destruction that followed when they tried to escape. Not to mention the bombers' friends trying to destroy evidence once they recognized who it was.

I am just appalled that a random 20yr old idiot kid can have access to top secret docs that are on a rescricted list, and just print them and take them out. at this point, I am just amazed that our secrets are not spilled more often. between the secret docs found at the homes of Trump, Biden and Pence (and at least for the latter two it seems reasonable to believe that they were taken by mistake and nobody noticed) and this, I hope somebody starts looking a little more seriously who has access to what and how to keep track of things

Chelsea Manning was convicted of 17 charges, sentenced to 35 years, and the sentence was commuted by Obama after 7 years.
Until we start cracking down on serious breaches like this, they will continue to occur.
