I heard it too, very sad |
didn't see this, was it on AEM? |
Arlington neighbors helping each other FB page "As a member of the community where kids go to Oakridge elementary I have heard there have been challenges—-and today at a 5th grade graduation there was a fight between parents. Parents fighting at a graduation? Anyone have any idea what happened? I’m worried about my neighbors. Thanks" |
Putting two and two together I think that it would have something to do with the parents of the kids involved in the outdoor lab assault but I don’t know for sure. |
I don’t know for sure; you know how rumor mills are. I’m hoping that somebody would say there is no way that APS would let that happen. |
It's on ARL now. |
Yep. Just saw it. https://www.arlnow.com/2023/06/09/parent-fight-at-elementary-school-graduation-ceremony-draws-police-response/ |
Omfg 🤦🏽♀️ |
WOW. Extremely poor form on the parts of the parents involved....and also, my curiosity is piqued. What in the world would lead to this kind of confrontation and escalation? |
I am also appalled, but - like you- so curious. What could possibly lead to this type of behavior? At an elementary school event, no less? It’s beyond strange. |
I think the adults involved were guardians of the students involved in the incident in the outdoor lab. But, you know, rumors. |
Ah. Then I don’t feel like I need to know any more. Just terrible all around. |

I guess all things regarding Oakridge must be placed in this thread. (The post about the parent fight at 5th grade graduation was locked for some reason and directed here. Unsure why, as it’s a different topic.)
Someone mentioned the women involved in the fight having a backstory. I’m sure they do, but that I’m no way excuses their trashy behavior. |
Someone said this on the locked thread, and I have a question….
What did the school do wrong? |
