Yes, a lot of people are excited about this movie. It's a weird concept with fantastic marketing, and indie movie royalty writing and directing. If it gets bad reviews, then sure no one will see it - it'll be another Babylon. If it gets good reviews, it'll be huge - and might even get Oscars.

It’s going to flop - mark my words.

We'll see. I suppose my kids (girls, 16 and 12) and I (51 YO mom) are the target demographic, but we are ready to see this on the big screen.

It's going to do well. Ignore the PP. This is the only movie my kids want to see this summer. All the others flopped because nobody went to see them. That's not the prediction for Barbie.

It’s not meant to be a kids movie.

It’s PG-13. Maybe the 5 year olds will sit this one out but the older kids will go.

I mean…Toy Story was nominated for best screenplay. Doesn’t seem that far-fetched.

Oh, ok. Check back in a few weeks and see if flops then. You might be disappointed.

PP will be parked in this thread until then, letting everyone know how dumb the movie is and how she would never see it.

He was on the Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake - he can sign and dance almost as good as JT!

I was in NYC last week and saw multiple people wearing Barbie t-shirts.

It's definitely not a flop.

That's animated and also not the same situation.

It is not going to be a flop, I agree. And I don’t understand why anyone would want Greta Gerwig to fail.
