NYC mayor declares 'emergency' due to migrants

When did NYC offer to house migrants and pay their expenses? They didn't. So why is Texas sending NYC migrants, lying to them, claiming that NYC made that offer?

And don't say "you voted for this blah blah blah" and "sanctuary city blah blah blah." Nobody voted to spend millions housing and feeding random migrants. That's not what "sanctuary city" means. Sanctuary city only means that a city isn't going to do the feds' job on immigration control for them.

When did Texas offer to receive migrants and keep them? They didn't.

p.s.: You voted for this blah blah blah.

Adams had no problem rolling out the welcome mat when the mayor of El Paso was sending migrants up by the busload.....

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser said at a public meeting this week that he spoke to Adams about his decision to send a group of senior advisers to Texas last week on what City Hall called a “fact-finding mission to…get the real answers we’re not getting from Texas.”

Leeser said that they discussed El Paso’s relocation program and that he told Adams most of the migrants being sent to New York were from Venezuela.

“We’re very thankful to Mayor Adams from New York that really stepped up to help us and, you know, he did tell me when I, when I spoke with him that there is not a community there within New York from Venezuela,” Leeser said at an El Paso City Council work session Monday.

“But he will welcome them into his community and then work with them to get them to a community where there is, there are peers, so they can continue to be there and that’s really important to him.”

Leeser said the influx of migrants to El Paso was “very manageable” when “we had two, three hundred a day.”

“Now, we have 1,400 a day. It’s easy math: multiply 1,400 times 30 and that’s 42,000 in a month period. So that’s a really big number and we need assistance,” he said.

Leeser also said that “the mayor of New York has been very proactive with us and we’ve had the ability to talk to the mayor of New York.”

Got what they voted for. What’s the issue?

y the right wing media because they do not want to talk about Trump. Answer my question will you migrate to Texas when Texas leave the US?

It's not a stunt for El Paso. This is a city of 680,000 that is receiving 2000 migrants a day, nearly 15,000 a week. NYC is more than ten times bigger and says it can't handle less than 15,000 migrants over several months. How could El Paso possibly deal with that kind of migrant volume?

El Paso is significantly less expensive to live in. Regular people cannot afford to live in NYC, much less find housing even if they could. Stupid to bus to NYC.

In 1981 with Callahan v. Carey and the Legal Right to Shelter. That's when. Throw in the "no person is illegal" and designating NYC a sanctuary city with the New York for All Act that broadly prohibits state and local officers from enforcing federal immigration laws and there you have it.

And yes, all of these laws were put into place by voting in politicians that crafted the laws.

Mayorkas is the most arrogant, nasty, hateful member of this administration.
He refuses to take responsibility for any of the issues localities are suffering due to HIS and Biden's unwillingness to secure the borders.

Yesterday. NYC residents have had enough.

Yes you did. You voted in nitwits like AOC who are pro this crap. You voted in droves for Biden in NY. You vote for this stuff by sending down loony bin politicians like AOC and then vote for Biden. Maybe try using common sense while voting instead of voting automatically down the ticket party line.

NY is doing many things that are making NY a magnet for illegal migrants.

1. They have a "right to shelter" law which Adams has extended to include migrants. So, NYC is "obligated" to provide housing... at tax payer expense.
2. Hochul wants to give all these migrants work authorization, which would, in turn, allow them to vote in local elections if the law is passed allowing them to do so. Right now, a court has struck that down, but Adams is appealing.
3. Hochul has requested federal funds for more shelters, metrocards, healthcare and SECTION 8 for illegal migrants. All of these would be no cost to migrants.

And, finally, Biden's administration was sending migrants to NYC long before Abbott did.
So, if NY is having problems, they really need to take it up with Biden. Not that he would listen or do anything, but this is all on Biden.

There was no relevant vote that you can point to, and by your own argument NYC apparently has every bit as much right to send them back to Texas as Texas had to send them to NYC.

I must have missed it when AOC passed a bill promising free room and board for illegals. Either post a citation for that bill, or STFU and stop making shit up. "Common sense" does not allow making shit up.
