The case settled then. Per the above cited article, the resident no thru agitator who caused the Streisand effect by his many breathless and poorly reasoned emails, agrees that there’s no need for sidewalks.
In fact, because no one walks there, the residents say. So no need to calm the alleged traffic. “the sidewalks were unnecessary because no one really walks there” Felled by their own hand. Keep driving, no thru is as unfair as it is unenforceable. In fact, drive more. Make CBR and UT part of your daily commute. It’s good for our city and the souls and will save you some time. |

You enjoyed quiet, largely trafficless streets, and then they pushed it too far. Just like with the overlay which didn’t stop the “mansions” eating up any remaining charm on the UT and making CBR so much prettier by comparison, but sure did waste $$$$ on never ending lawsuits

| The funniest part being that while the CBR and UT overlay people fought the sidewalks and beehives, the streets became part of the worst flight corridor. Not likely to change and will eventually make the streets even less attractive than the mess of overlay rules and the jumble of neo-stuccoed houses on steroids |

I agree. They are ruining DC with these traffic calming. Putting up permanent cement middle barriers Turning streets one way. Adding bike lanes that bikers won’t use because they want to go the most efficient route for them even if it’s sidewalks going down one way the wrong way. This is not traffic calming. This is traffic road rage. Don’t we want these cars to get out of the city as fast as possible? And get DC residents home? They block intersections, blow red lights, spreed through alleys, it’s a mess. NE DC changes to roads is creating tons of back ups and now folks are looking for shorts cuts and speeding down the quieter blocks. The ANC A/B are making a mess. |
