Lily Collins is too thin in Emily in Paris

Me too. She is the perfect caricature of the American Executive (not an executive of course).

Totally. And that line about giving Sylvie a 360 review ASAP.

If she were fat would you dare post something like this? Or is okay to body shame naturally thin people. ED or not, she is a naturally small boned, slim woman.

Like her dad, who can barely stand at age 70.

Phil Collins "can barely stand at the age of 70" because he had a spinal injury and thus has nerve damage. What does that have to do with his daughter's petite frame?

Won't anyone think of the naturally small boned, slim women?

Or you could just choose to not over eat. Just an idea.

I just watched it, bracing myself for a horrorshow of bones and deprivation. Instead I found a perfectly normal and not underweight young woman with cheekbones to die for.

I’ve not had an eating disorder so I don’t know but other than having a super tiny waist, I’m not seeing what others are. My apologies to the triggers those in recovery are experiencing.

I, like some other commentors have always been thin, I have also struggled with an eating disorder my entire adult life. And with that, I know all the "right" things to say to what i think "diverts" attention or getting your clothes tailored to fit just right so it doesn't appear too loose and obvious on you. Lily HAS an eating disorder, she didn't HAVE. Anyone who is in this boat understands. I don't find it triggering. I find it sad and a good reminder of how terrible this life is and looks to others. Im so sorry she has to go through this publicly, on a global scale. I couldn't imagine the pressure and spiral that would create. Lily, I know you will never read this, but please know you are not alone in your thinking or your feeling... but you deserve more. we all do.

Same, I expected much worse from reading this thread, but I thought she looked great! (as a middle aged average-weight woman with no ED experience who would love to be her size)

It's sad, she was so beautiful in in this movie and lots of guys had a crush on her. EDs are ruthless

Oh wow, I had no clue that's the same person.

Why does she wear gloves so much in this season? Fashion choice or hiding something?

It’s hard for me to understand how anyone can think her body looks “great.” For me, it’s a huge distraction and quite sad. It’s like seeing someone’s wounds or scars when you’re trying to enjoy comedy. I still like the show and think she’s a talented comic actress. Maybe my opinion is biased because I saw her in movies like Love Rosie and you don’t get from there to here without truly extreme dieting.

I don’t know what the right answer is. This definitely isn’t a positive image for young girls, but to fire her for her illness feels wrong. I wonder if this casting would have happened with a female creator who had been around the block and understood ED’s.

When you are super thin, the veins on your hands can be really noticeable and scary looking. Paris hilton wears gloves all the time too
