She made sure she locked it down while the sex is still hot lol. She knows how he is once he gets cold feet. With all her engagements and marriages, don’t expect her to know better but he should. What a dummy. Other than the extravagant gifts, the eventual divorce shouldn’t cost him much since at least they have their own fortunes. Hope the kids will be okay however this plays out.

Very hard not to feel cynical about the prospects for this marriage. I'd say no more than a 5% chance they defy expectations and achieve any real longevity.

To answer the poster on the other thread who asked me “why I think it will last,” I…don’t, necessarily. Nor do I much care. But I’m not so mean-spirited that I would literally (as someone else said) “count the days.” Their marriage is none of my business. Like any married couple, I wish them well, and I hope they are happy as individuals and as a couple.

Good points but a key question is will both accept being less relevant and be able to shift focus to family life vs. always chasing the awards etc. He seems more willing to live a lower-key life than she, but she does seem madly in love with him so maybe(?)

Why would they have to ‘shift’ towards family life? All their kids are teens. If anything more independent than ever. This is a fine time to do whatever they want although both are practically retired in their respective fields anyway.

She's a notoriously hard worker and is self-focused by the nature of her professional identity (entertainer/diva). If he stays busy too, they might be okay for a while but trouble will brew when he's less busy, gets bored, and she's not around to give him the attention and admiration he needs. And vice versa of course, but she seems the busier of the two.

I wonder if an addict and adrenaline junkie can ever really live a low-key life for long.
