Considering the alleged incident involves a PVI parents then it probably is fact. Those kids learn their behavior from parents first. It is no secret that the PVI kids who play both football and lacrosse leave a little to be desired in how they behave in public and on the field. I personally have heard multiple players use a negative racial slur directed at an opponent, and better yet calling a child that is of latin descent the N-word is laughable on its own merit. These kids are allowed to just do what they want and there is no repercussions.
There is a reason that numerous teams will not schedule them for competition....no need to put their student body through that.
PVI needs to do better.
Yeah that's not what happened at all, and there is video. You can lie all you want but it's already been passed along to DeMatha administration. If they don't handle it, then it'll get escalated to the diocese. Maybe the media would be interested too, but at this point no one is out to ruin people's futures for racist comments.
Which, to be clear, is what started it. DeMatha baseball players behind the bench directing targeted harassment and racial slurs at the lone black player on the PVI team. Called him a "token", mocked his appearance, etc. Then the refs kicked those fans out of the game for "derogatory remarks." This is all on video.
Then after the game a DeMatha player threw a lacrosse ball at a PVI parent, called mothers "pigs" and many other choice curse words and slurs, and stole a flag they brought with them.
Again, all of this is on video. It makes sense considering they had a player slug an opponent in a handshake line last year, but it was still alarming conduct. And it falls on the coaches who are clearly horrible role models and do not hold their kids accountable. They could hear the racial comments as well as anyone and did nothing to address their fans all game despite multiple warnings from the refs which is how things continued to escalate.
