2024 Boys Private School Results /Game Schedules/ Commentary

Can we please talk about the STA livestream? It has no sound (like they’re afraid of what the crowd is saying), the scoreboard is not shown in the box on the bottom left of the screen, the camera angle is crooked at times and floats around the field often away from the ball possession or play/action. Multiple goals missed because goal was not in camera view. It’s embarrassing. Who is running it? A kid with zero awareness or a parent who has been hitting the sauce. Either way, they need to remedy the situation. It’s not hard to follow the action in a game, especially when their so zoomed out.

It’s an automated camera. The tech sucks on these but schools apparently don’t have a club or parent they are willing to ask to man a camera. I guess sta also didn’t read the instructions on how to setup the scoreboard part of the lens. All of these systems stink and are not worth the money.

if you care so much why don't you just go?

Why don’t they pay a company like other schools? Or find a volunteer? If other schools can figure it out, why can’t STA. It’s literally terrible. So many plays missed.

Not positive about this but also heard that the BU goalie commit didn’t play.

STA found their match in Christ School. Final Score STA 7 - Christ 6.

You are correct. Parents volunteer and contribute to everything. They have ig this and fb that. Should be easy but a lot of schools use this system and it’s a waste of $$

I know the 3rd parties are expensive. Cruitcast had a niche and they closed up shop.

He didn't, recovering from an injury.

Prep looked the worse I’ve seen in years. Offense is not strong by any means, hero ball at its finest with no creativity on offense, defense is rock solid but gets caught ball watching, goalie will need to improve for them to have any chance of winning IAC. St Mary’s on a down year and was up 6 or 7 at one point. I give prep credit for fighting. They showed a ton of character to come back and win in OT. But there’s no way they’re a top 20 team in the country, not even close.

GP has never been very creative under this coach. They have always had a ton of talent and Urick lets them shine. Maybe he should have won a few more titles but he's been very good and, more importantly, his players go to good universities. They have individual talent again on offense and the defense shined in the 2nd half. Goalie, wellll.

Have you raised this at all with the coach or athletics department? Or are you sticking with your approach of going off the rails on an anonymous message board about your frustrations that you can’t view perfectly a bunch of 16 year old kids playing preseason lacrosse.

The annual STM vs Prep game has often been hard fought and close. It’s usually one of Prep’s first games and they are still figuring things out. In this year’s game, you could literally see Prep improve during the game.

Here is some history of their matchups.

In 2018 STM won by 1.

In 2019 Prep won by 3.

In 2020, Prep won with a center field shot with just three seconds left on the clock.

No game in 2021 due to Covid.

In 2022, STM won by 8.

In 2023, STM won by three goals. Remember, this team was loaded and ended up ranked 4th in the country.

In 2024, Prep won in OT.

It’s a hard fought back and forth rivalry almost every year.

Wow, STA clearly doesn’t take criticism well. Who’s off the rails now?
