Sad, but I'm not sure she was very talented. Her song "Rehab" was fun because it was ironic to see someone in a Beehive singing on a Phil Spector-like song singing about rehab. Unfortunately it appears that she was being literal. She was a druggie who refused to change, and somehow she got lucky enough to be put in a hairdo and on a record.

She sure squandered an opportunity in life, and I don't have much respect for that.

I am not a huge fan, but it's sad to lose someone so young.

I think she was extremely talented. It is always sad when someone this young dies, and in this way.

Addiction is a terrible disease, and it is really sad when it kills. Unfortunately, it kills lots of people - but we really get a look at it when someone famous dies. It is a mental issue though, and although we tend to feel like addicts should just kick the habit, it's really hard and requires a lifetime of work. Plus, it's really hard to convince an addict they need to change while in the midst of their habit. Overall I think blaming the addict is just as bad as blaming someone who is depressed for not "snapping out of it".

Every single one of us has flaws and vices. It sad when anyone this young dies and even sadder to read righteous people on here, blow it off because she wasted her so called talent. We have all have some issues. She still has a family grieving.

I want to echo what others are saying. She had a disease, and it stole her talent.

Okay. But please respect the fact that addiction kills. She had a lot of enablers, and unfortunately didn't get the help she needed. She didn't plan on squandering her life. I am sure that is the last thing she wanted. She was sick.

I never heard her music, only saw headlines. It is very sad. Agree with other PPs that addiction is a cruel disease. It does not matter if she was talented or not - she was someone's daughter/sister/friend - a human being.

Only 27. Sad.

Sad. Talented. Young. I care.

Me too. Such wasted talent. She must have had some bad demons. RIP.
