I'll start.
Me: When you were a baby, you grew in my tummy. DD (quite distraught): But why did you EAT me??? |
| Or better yet, let's not. |
|
I was sending my son to his room for time out the other day, and as he was crying his way up the stairs, he turned around and said "But what if the big bad wolf comes and eats me up?"
|
| My 14 mo DS only knows a few words, but everytime he gets up from my lap, he kisses me, says "bye bye" and waves. All that for his long trek across the living room to get his book. |
| This is a very useful thread. It reminds me that I should never share these stories with friends or co-workers because they lose a lot in the telling. |

Usually with ultrasound pictures everyting looks blob-like to me but I have an ultrasound picture of our DD where you can see her entire body so I framed it. One day she asked me what it was and I told her it was a picture of her while she was in my tummy. She then says to me "oh, I can see daddy too."
She was sitting in our bedroom and I turned on some Nick Jr and told her "I'm gonna hop in the shower real quick and I'll be out soon." She says to me "you're not supposed to hop in the shower, you'll hurt yourself." |

14:18 and 14:37 (if you aren't the same person) - please go outside and melt.
My son asked me yesterday "If we stay outside too long, will we cook like a hot dog?" |
|
14:37 what a jerk.
14:34 that is so cute!! |

My 2 year old is in speech therapy for language delays. He only had a handful of words a few months ago, but we knew he was making progress when he put together his first two-word phrase - he was watching Dora and I told him it was time for his bath. He glared at me and said "Uh-uh. THAT!" and pointed at the TV.

| I've been trying to teach my daughter to say "see you later" to things she doesn't want to leave so that she gets the idea that she'll see them again. Leaving the pool yesterday, my 2 year old daughter for the first time on her own waved to the pool and said "bye bye water, see you!" |
|
Last night my 18 month old dropped something and said "oh mo!"
Yeah, it does lose a little something in the telling, but it makes me smile. |
|
2 year old put on a cowboy hat and started talking about cows. I asked him if he was a cowboy (he said yes) and if he was riding a horse and he frowned and said "No. A cow." and proceeded to talk about riding on a cow.
Cowboys ride cows. Makes sense, I guess. |

I told my son it was time to go to the pool, and he ran upstairs to put on his swimsuit. When he came down, he was wearing his swimsuit, his bike helmet, his construction goggles, and was carrying his lunch box.
Man, he was ready for ANYTHING!! |
| One time I went away with my girlfreinds for a girls weekend. My husband must have kept telling the kids "mommy will be home tomorrow" every time they asked. When I walked through the door on Sunday, the older one (about 3 at the time) said "Yea! It's tomorrow" |
|
I'll play.
My nine year old (yep, 9 y.o.) and I were in the doughnut shop and he asked for a French critter. I didn't laugh (go me!), and said, "well, there's a fritter, and there's a crueller." |
